  • immensely folk

  • I really love the top comments on all of Agalloch's videos.

  • get a singer newb

  • who needs words

  • This is my favorite album, thus making agalloch my favorite band :) i love them so much

  • Please can you recommend me some similar musicians, like Nick Drake, (Acoustic) Opeth, (Acoustic) Drudkh, (Acoustic) Ulver.

    Interesting Acoustic/Folk musicians...

  • @AnthemsToTheWelkin Rome, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Death in June... countless other neofolk bands

  • Epica

  • the reindeer is badass

  • Just epic. I want have this song in my funeral.

  • this footsteps kill me every time I listen

  • listen to this then listen to Thy Catafalque - Fehér Berek

Not very similar bands, but those two songs sequence each other nicely.

  • Wonderful<3<3

  • "It gives me chills from the coldness..........yet I feel so warm...."

  • People don't bother with the dislikers. This world will always have a big percentage of fools. Please just enjoy this song in peace and meditation. Agalloch deserve that.

  • this video has no room for racist discussions..

  • @TuomasLover90 Free speech?

  • @restorer33 you're right.

  • That is why We do not hear great music on tv and radio of bands like Agalloch and instead We are bombarded with black influenced music such as gangster rap and r&b.

  • @restorer33 yes incredibly true;too bad sells in the media's opinion. There are too many too agree with this and just a few to agree;nobody can listen to any kind of opinion, anyone focuses on collective measures;respect needs to be reprofiled

  • The' Out of Africa' theory is just that.Rightly the Japanese/Chinese disagree with

The modern theory is that we are all 'Equal' and therefore we are all the same is all part of the same agenda-to destroy European identity and culture!

  • @restorer33 european indentity and culture was forced upon so many people in diffrent parts of the world during the history.... so dont complain... Eastern civilizations were far more superior to european civization but they didnt have predatory and aggressive instinct that europeans did (wihich was the cause of their demise).

  • @Kafir345 Non-aggresive and weak races tend to disapear into history.

Agree, some of the Far Eastern cultures are advanced.

Some of the worlds greatest thinkers, scientists, industrialists came from Europe, mainly from the Germanic/Nordic Race.

I think You have erased an 'encyclopedia' of history in your viewpoint!

  • @restorer33 ahhhhh... never mind.....

  • 7 Dislikes ... WTF must be deaf and blind or bible baggers ....

  • whats up with this race talk? if it makes this topic any different the oldest fossils of homo and our oldest relatives all stem from africa, around the ethiopian/kenyan regions. it's been pretty much proven we all have had a black ancestry since the human species migrated out of africa, than there bodies adapted to various enviormental stresses. thats my point of view at least, and many of us have differeing ones, so lets just all enjoy this magnificent music

  • Beautiful.... rebirth through death, this is how this song makes me feel.....

  • This band captures the quintessential ethos and spirit of white creativity and European ingenuity. Racial differences are empirically and forensically manifest---race is not a "social construct" but a biological reality. Agalloch doesn't need to overtly extol the virtues of White lyrics , it is inherently evident and emanates from their music. The intrinsic beauty of their music is at odds with an ugly, regressive, unworkable multiracial society. White people need to awaken. This is truth.

  • @Gravelandart

    Please, go die.

    People are people.

    Skin color, is an adaptation.

What music appeals to us, is the environment we grow up in.

Thankyou, and please, make it your goal to get run over by the nearest bus.

  • @lokdie - No, I'll stay here and continue to do what I do. And enjoy Agalloch's great music.

  • @Gravelandart

If you're still so immature, or so worthless that you believe that a facet of a man is his color, you are sorely mistaken.

The only people who measure their worth in things they never had any influence on are the ones who aren't worth anything in the first place.

The worth of a man is judged by what he has done, not by the Melatonin in his skin.

  • @lokdie you are the result of the teachings of the 'multi cultural experiment'-In your false ' worldview'-which is a fusing of Global Capitalism and social Marxism , the achievements of the European folk have been erased from history.

Race is more than skin colouring. Your Un-Natural world does not recognise these differences and suggests we all are one mixed raced mass of egocentric individuals.

    Brainwashed zombie.

  • @restorer33

Please enlighten me as to the natural superiority of sub species within the same species.

I would be enthralled to see the empirical data.

  • @lokdie You show me the data that says otherwise.

  • @restorer33

I Live in america, so by law, it is the burden of the non-precedent to show evidence as to why the current status quo is wrong.

I can show you mounds and mounds of data that show that the 3 primary human sub-species are of little difference.

  • @lokdie It seems your life is little more than observing mounds of data.

It does not take a 'data analyst' to list the many hundreds of thousands of inventors, scientists, industrialists, engineers, artists and discoveries made by those of Aryan origin.

  • @restorer33

I agree, Indians did invent quite a large number of man's achievements.

  • @lokdie But only the Higher Caste, who have the some of the genes as their ancestors who came from Europa during the Verdic era some 3500 years ago! lol

  • @restorer33

    Some?

you realize Africans and europeans share the most genetic material right?

  • @lokdie The ancient Aryan civilisations will of of left their mark across all accessible continents.

  • @lokdie Most? We share all of it, except maybe some genes which were changed during the millenia because certain bodily traits would offer better protection against the climate etc. Even humans and... reptiles, for example, would share about 30-40% of the DNA... or even more.

This is not meant to bash your comment, but to underline it. :-)

  • @Ninetoes3 i've given up arguing with these apes.

they can't really understand even basic genetics.

And the fact that environs determine the most about you as a person.

  • @lokdie You are confused.com.

Go and sort out your marxist 'made up' history of mankind in a more suitable 'environ' !

  • @lokdie I thought apes came from Africa......LOL

  • @restorer33

    Higher Caste?

Are you seriously getting Africa and India confused here?

  • Continued... wants sum1 to be wth yet she has to cross the field of bodies 2 reach tht sum1

  • Imaginations of a Blank Canvas :

Hear this song while in a very depressed mood and closed my eyes and imagined this...

Imagine a closed lodge .. A place of war where there has been indiscriminate killings and in this there is just a little girl who has survived..She is looking out of the window while hiding and sees the army marching off after the massacre..She steps out in a desolate world full of bodies lying all around and suddenly she spots a moving hand..Imagine the horror of tht kid who

  • @GodOfBloodShed geigh....

  • The first time i heard this song the begin kind of spooked me.Just the thought of someone striking a deer skull to make that wicked tapping sound is just creepy to me haha . Agalloch has to be one of the best bands ive ever heard :)

  • Hurray for deer skull percussion.

  • @AsASymbol

holy crap is that what that is?

  • @GOFFYTIME Yep.

  • to me agalloch really knows how to capture the sounds of the earth into a mysterious yet peaceful work of art. I love to just sit outside when its winter and fall and just enjoy the nature around me. they help you appreciate all beautiful tones of the landscape. I feel as if I had become apart of the natural surroundings. that I belong there.

  • @parkerbob99 I couldn't have said it any better.

  • @parkerbob99 same feeling.

  • what a gorgeous sounding album, the cover and music go hand in hand :) I'll have to look out for these guys . . .

  • I think this song hypnotized my kitten.

  • @Ahbez ...and don't forget NEST

  • There needs to be more metal like this.

  • Yes, that haunting drum clicky sound is him playing a deer skull.

It's not possible to get any nearer to the primordial source of awesomeness than Agalloch.

  • Agalloch makes me happy

  • WHOOSH

  • I was completely bored, but when I started to listen to Agalloch a few minutes ago, it flew away like a gust of wind. Only managed that with Agalloch, so far!

  • this band, the music of this band have an amazing power, something special that blow my mind, let it travel miles and miles far away from here, from my chair and my desk...it's something unique...something special...

  • Comment removed

  • One of the most original bands ever. Missed their show in Milwaukee...someone stole a ceremonial skull off the stage. Bastards.

  • They actually returned it haha. I caught the show in Chicago though. I traveled all the way from Atlanta. I talked to John's wife for much of the show. She was taking pictures and she's a damn good photographer. She brought John out to meet me after the show too. Pretty epic.

  • if by"filler" you mean "beautiful crown jewel on an amazing album" then i agree with you.

also its the best song on The Mantle.

  • @oddmanout1792 not the best but still great

  • definitely one of the best songs I have ever heard to feature a deer skull

  • lol, out of all the dozens of songs you've heard with deer skulls eh?

  • Dark,Awesome,Existential And Emotional band!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my favorite album of all time. they are in a league of their own. really great ambient music that makes me long for the cold season

  • werd. feel the same way

  • probably never have heard of Forseti?

  • This is so beautiful Absolutely Breathtaking =)

  • Love the little knocks in the song liek at 1:07 and 1:23

  • its a deer skull

  • Yeah, I love those and how they go all throughout the song. They help me keep the rhythm with my feet.

  • lol, deer skull.

    These guys are genii.

  • I highly enjoy listening to Agalloch's music, but after the song is over, I always end up ticked off. Can somebody help me? This is beautiful music, but how I feel afterwards distracts me from liking it.

  • Well, maybe it's the melancholic feeling, that people with dark souls adore.

    The beauty of the ugly.

The life in death and the love in hate.

I do not become happy, when I hear Agalloch.

I become sad, but I love it so much.

It's just the feeling people, who consume this art, have to deal with.

  • the joy of modern life is superficial and short lasting compared to true melancholic feelings...

  • so right...

  • oh yeah, so right.

  • listen to it more ..you are obsessd with there music and you can only fix that

  • I recommend some Ambient and some depressive black metal. Agalloch got me into it all. Songs in those genres can last for up to 1 hour. It's my sleeping soundtrack.

    I highly recommend "Deepspace".

  • Doom metal is more close to this kind of sound. Personally i would recommend you My Dying Bride or Shape of Despair

  • I was listening to "Songs of Darkness, Words of Life" and couldn't stop listening to Stainthorpe's vocals. He is a magnificent vocalist. Equal to robo-cop.

  • lol ... The Cry of Mankind and The Dreadful Hours are my favourite songs by mdb ,there you can appreciate more and more his robo-cop vocals XD

Angels of Distress album by Shape of Despair is a masterpiece

  • Gotta love that deer skull sound. :D

  • Kinda new to this kind of music, can anyone recommend a similiar band?

  • Thorr's Hammer

    Ulver

  • Empyrium

  • @gatorbate09 ulver too maybe

  • I don't see many similarities between Agalloch and Dream Theater though

  • dream theaters a little out there

  • woods of ypres

    bathory

  • Go to KSCIAA his profile "thats his name KSCIAA.." and then he has all the music like this.

  • @Ahbez

    Negura Bunget

    Fen

    Lantlos

    Kroda

    Altar of Plagues

  • @Ahbez Opeth, Porcupine Tree has its elements, try searching pandora radio for them. I found Agalloch under Opeth radio but I have a radio just for Agalloch now.

  • @Ahbez Check out Orphaned Land. Very similar to Opeth.

  • @Ahbez opeth

  • No I'm sure plenty of people agree with you. You all just suck.

  • At first I was like "that tree looks like a deer"

    then I was like "oh"

  • lmao that's funny.

  • @MandyLovesYou99 Oh.I didn't even know it was a tree until you posted thisXD.

  • @Linkinfreak123321 it is a tree.

  • @Linkinfreak123321 Sorry, I meant deer. XD

  • @burt2800 Im mixed uppp.It either is a deer that looks like a tree,or the other way around...

  • i love how this music is so solemn and beautiful.

yet all anyone does in the comments is argue.. haha

  • Agreed,

but compared to other youtube stuff,

these videos are alot more passive. haha

if you go look at a opeth video, or alesana, or flogging molly,

all anyone does is call someone else a piece of shit,

stereos should be set up in war zones to play agalloch.

  • you have a point.

  • SHUT UP, YOU DON"T KNOW CRAP! GO DIG A HOLE AND DIE IN IT!... nah' I'm just kidding lol

  • one of my favourite album cover

  • Same here.

  • me too, it's right in the middle of my hometown. kinda makes me proud :)

  • The singsong, the lodge it is.

An ancestral persistence ingrain into the mystique of the reverie's human state.

  • Pretentious much?

  • Yeah, I can't wait to see them in London. They hardly ever tour, let alone the UK.

  • March 26 ... concert in London. I will be there...

  • god i fucking love this band

  • Pure genius. Metal's long awaited equivalent to Pink Floyd.

  • exactly

  • amazing album

  • Amazing song

  • i like to play the deer skull too

  • 5stars

  • This band has the most amazing soundscaping I've ever heard. Seriously. Nothing else even compares.

  • i transcend time while I rest in this lodge. I visit the constellations of the stars while I wait in this lodge. I am uncertain of my future but I have hope while I sit in this lodge. The fragile emptiness that I encounter is more valuable to me than the burdening fullness of this life, while I die in this lodge.

  • opeth is great jävla, and agalloch is great palefolk. great agalloch, hail from saxony

  • I never understood the Agalloch-Opeth comparisons. In my mind Opeth isn't even in the same ballpark as Agalloch.

  • This music is very complacent, introspective and it weaves an illustrious tapestry of emotions. It is not often that music is able to move the heart to such intriguing contemplation. I find it a delight to the ears to have such a treasure appealing to my senses.

    Well done, Agalloch.

  • ah, I love the wonderfully complicated, advanced vocabulary of the responses on videos of music of this nature :P. Much more interesting to read than "awesome" or "great song"

  • @EvalinaJ Yeah, it's a pretty cool tune. ;)

  • Mixture of Anathema,Opeth and Riverside but great music.

  • To me Agalloch has more of a Ulver/Sol Invictus feel.

  • yeah, early Ulver must've had a big impact on this band.

  • opeth... eh, I'm the biggest opeth fanboy i know, this doesn't really reflect opeth to me at all. its like it's own genre.

  • Ulver is one of Agallochs main influences

  • this music sometimes makes me cry

and music that makes me cry is really good :>

    awesome band

  • one of the best bands to ever live

  • csodaszarvaaas!

  • The deer is a holy animal in the ancient religion of huns...it is called the wonder-deer, that in the hunic mythology led our ancestors in the Carpathian basin. Beautiful music for this theme...

  • to bad its not a deere

  • an elk is a type of deer, dude, just like moose, caribou, and the animals you normally think of as deer.

  • absolutely wonderful.

  • Agalloch is the master of moods

  • The "click" sound you hear is from striking a deer's skull with a drumstick.

    Awesome, huh?

  • how do you know this?

  • Just lookin stuff up, its on their myspace....

  • No. Not you i belive you a page bac someone said that the clicking noise in the begining of the song was th striking of a deer skull with a drumstick, so i was like how do you know that fact. =)

  • Oh. lol :)

  • wow i just looked at your page and your very pretty.

  • :) Thank you.
