Transitioning is a HUGE process that takes years and years. It's not something that just happens easily like you're implying it does.

@jamiebellwolf Transgender teenagers have the highest instance of suicide out of any group in the wold. The suicide attempt rate is 50% for trans people. It is only 12% for gay youth. We kill ourselves over being trapped in the wrong body. It's hard to get out of bed in the morning and hate our own bodies to the point that many of us mutilate our own genitals because they repulse us so much.
Transpeople do not have more benefits. I still don't think you know what trans means.

But 50% is a huge percentage. Statistics don't just change. People have to change for the stats to change. Clearly trans kids need help.

Please educate yourself before making claims. Transpeople often feel relieved when they have genital reassignment surgery, if they choose to. (Some don't have it because the surgeries are fairly crude at this point.)

And we can't just "grow a dick or grow boobs", transpeople who undergo genital surgery often have to wait years, and these surgeries cost us about $50,000-$75,000.

I knew I was born into the wrong body because I just knew. It's really hard to explain the feeling of gender dysphoria, but it's something you just know. You wake up and feel like your body isn't the right one. It's like how you know you're gay. You just know.

There are several surgeries, there's not just "the operation". I am pre-operative, so I have not undergone surgery yet.

@jamiebellwolf I just know. I have never been comfortable with my chest, and I am giving myself health problems by binding them. When I have them removed, it will be a huge relief. The genital surgeries for FtM's are not very refined, so I won't be getting that done until they make some advancements.
My partner is not interested in the female aspects of my body, and neither am I.

Transgender people are part of the LGBT community. It's sad to see that some members of the LGBT community try to push us out. We all have strength in numbers, if we start fragmenting into smaller groups, we'll never gain equality.

Transitioning is a HUGE process that takes years and years. It's not something that just happens easily like you're implying it does.

@jamiebellwolf Transgender teenagers have the highest instance of suicide out of any group in the wold. The suicide attempt rate is 50% for trans people. It is only 12% for gay youth. We kill ourselves over being trapped in the wrong body. It's hard to get out of bed in the morning and hate our own bodies to the point that many of us mutilate our own genitals because they repulse us so much.
Transpeople do not have more benefits. I still don't think you know what trans means.

I literally said we all need to work together to attain equality, as in ALL of the LGBT community, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, asexuals, queer, questioning, intersex, all of us.
But 50% is a huge percentage. Statistics don't just change. People have to change for the stats to change. Clearly trans kids need help.

ALL of the groups that I mentioned get marginalized, that's what I'm saying. We all need to be strong TOGETHER to gain equality.
What YOU need to understand is that you don't have the right to decide someone's gender. Only that person themself has the right to choose their gender, and you need to be okay with the fact that some people are trans.
Statistics don't just change on their own...

Please educate yourself before making claims. Transpeople often feel relieved when they have genital reassignment surgery, if they choose to. (Some don't have it because the surgeries are fairly crude at this point.)

@jamiebellwolf No we can't. Transitioning takes years, and we're stuck in a sexually ambiguous stage, sometimes for over a year. 37 transgender people were murdered last year in hate crimes. No less than 50 trans kids committed suicide.
And we can't just "grow a dick or grow boobs", transpeople who undergo genital surgery often have to wait years, and these surgeries cost us about $50,000-$75,000.
I'm not marginalizing gay struggles, I'm trying to educate you.

And the surgeries are extremely complicated, we don't just "grow" new genitals. they are incredibly flawed and expensive.

@jamiebellwolf The Harry Benjamin Standards of Care are a set of guidelines laid out that prevent transitioning when someone is not a transsexual. The guy you were talking about didn't follow those guidelines.
I'm trans and gay. I was born female, I transitioned and identify as male, and I'm in a homosexual relationship with a man.
I'm focused on transpeople, not only because I am one, but because the entire LGBT community needs to band together and unite.

And yes, I was born female, but I was born into the wrong body. I am a man. My body is different from most other men, but that doesn't make me less of a man.
Every legitimate scientific organization acknowledges the existence of transsexuals. My brain is more like a male brain than a female brain, I just ended up with the wrong genitals.

@jamiebellwolf Researchers have taken brain scans of transsexuals and their brain structure is closer to that of their gender identity, in my case, my brain is structured more like a man's than a woman's.
I knew I was born into the wrong body because I just knew. It's really hard to explain the feeling of gender dysphoria, but it's something you just know. You wake up and feel like your body isn't the right one. It's like how you know you're gay. You just know.

And it's physically structured like a male's. FtM transsexuals have a hypothalamus (part of the brain) that is shaped like a biological man's.
Females can be aggressive in sports and do manly things, that's totally fine. But I know I'm not a woman. I was born female, but I was never a girl. I have known that I was a boy since I was a child.

Like I keep saying, I just knew. It has nothing to do with the things I liked, or the sports I played, I just knew I wasn't a girl. I knew that my body was not the body I was supposed to have. Gender dysphoria is really hard to explain to people that are not trans.
There are several surgeries, there's not just "the operation". I am pre-operative, so I have not undergone surgery yet.

And it's a scientific study. I was not one of the subjects, but it's a proven scientific fact that trans people's brains are structurally similar to those of their gender identity.
I would be happier after getting my breasts removed. I bind them every day and I have rib damage from binding.
The man you are talking about was not a transsexual, he had a fetish for them.

@jamiebellwolf I just know. I have never been comfortable with my chest, and I am giving myself health problems by binding them. When I have them removed, it will be a huge relief. The genital surgeries for FtM's are not very refined, so I won't be getting that done until they make some advancements.
My partner is not interested in the female aspects of my body, and neither am I.

And if they can't make any advancements, I'll probably get a metoidioplasty so I can urinate standing up.
I've worn dresses before when I was younger because I had to (for things like weddings) and I always felt uncomfortable in them. It felt wrong.
I'm not screwing up, and I'm not a female. I'm a man.
