You're not terrible, what I'm seeing is. I would pick a white background so that you see the character and the piano against a contrast, second use a different camera angle, show quicker hand movements on the keys that match to the millimeter otherwise it just collapses like a house of cards. Also if its a WIP you should spend more time polishing it before showing it to people theres no reason to see it this early. Critiques are for 'what can I improve' and theres a lot that can be here.
That IS a more helpful critique. Telling people how terrible their animation is holds no water if there isn't any reasoning behind it.
Also, in my opinion, I am not half bad for having done this only a few days after I turned fifteen. Also for the record, I belong to a forum where people do like to see works in progress from me. They like to see some updates once in awhile, even if it isn't some amazing Pixar-quality animation.
well good but people who play piano will probably tell you to make sure your character is hitting the correct keys. i know its still a wip but just to let you know. great job so far!
then dont animate a scene like that. Patience and attention to detail are animators best friends and it takes one slip up to snap ppl out of the illusion of reality.
i think this is very good considering hes only been at it for 2 years and is only 15...of ouse there are some things that could be better... but no need to get rude
are you on drugs or being sarcastic, youtube 'animation mentor' to see amazing animation, this is terrible. I dont understand where ppl get such low standards for animation.
I never said they weren't amazing. However those people are paying thousands of dollars for their one on one training.
Obviously everyone commenting here knows how much better AM animates than me, but at my level, it must be quite good or else they wouldn't be complimenting me.
duuude nice improvement! noticed the reflection in the walls XD really cool.
you're right lol it would take a really long time to animate the whole song, but if you get into the industry, and you get a job like that, you'll have to do it. anyway, you could just paste the hand animation over and over till the end of the vid,the only challange will be the lipsync.btw you do the facial animations really well,i dont spend that much time on making it seem exactly how it should, but maybe i should.
Yeah, I was thinking about that copy and paste thing with the hand movements... maybe I should try that out.
I started out the same way as you; not paying much attention to the mouth movements. As I went along though, I just got better at it, and got more detailed.
DUDE THAT IS GOOD. if you have like, 10 years on your hands, you should have the dude playing all the right notes and the whole song and that would be teh shit!
i don't think its terrible.

Thanks man!
I actually play the piano myself, but personally, I don't have the patience to even take the time to animate with that much detail.

patience is a virtue.

Yeahzorz! Lulz... it would take forever to actually animate it all correctly. The next scene for the music video will be with drums! Woot woot! :D
