@landroverowner195 for a simpel reason: there are many cities with historic city centers, where the roads are so small that US size fire trucks wouldn't fit through; and btw in some few places in Europe you do find US fire trucks
@USalltheway96 e.g. the Warsaw FD (Poland) has several US Fire Engines and Aerial Ladders, also in the Netherlands you can find some very few US trucks, and of course also at the US Army / Airforce bases in Germany.
@isstatu1 the battalion car are for the battalion chiefs which are pretty much a lower ranking chief than the real cheif. they supervise an area of new york instead of one chief. And they r almost like regular chief they respond to calls in their private fire car
@isstatu1 since manhattan and nyc is really big each borough has about maybe 13-20 battalion cars or maybe less. each battalion car takes 3+2 around them for a fire. each battalion is in charge of rigs around it. like battalion 4 located in the lower east side. it is in charge of ladder 18,ladder 11, ladder 6, engine 15,engine 28, and sometimes engine 55. any battalion will be in charge of their surrounding rigs. divisons are in every borough. division 1 takes care manhattan under a certain st.
@isstatu1 battalion chiefs are also in charge of fires, structure problems, medical emergencies, mva (motor vechile accident), or acting as another battalion. acting as another battalion only occurs if one of the battalion car is out of their house on a call and that needs to be replace by another one. if more than one battalion is needed for a fire or a certain call dispatch will send a ticket to say so. there are other battalions, rescue battalion, hazmat battalion, and a ems battalion.
@jasonbsa Might know a better route to the scene. The Battalion cars are easy to get in and out of busy streets than Engines and Trucks, plus the Engines and Trucks may also be taking a side street so they can come into the fire building with a better angle to be better positioned on the fireground.
@jasonbsa Yep when you've driven all three you get a better feel for what type of streets you can and can't go down. I primarily ride on an Engine but every now and then have to drive the Truck and once you drive it and start getting used to it it's a completely different ball game. I have one building in my district that the Engine will keep going for another block and park in the front door of the building where as in the Truck I take a side alley and post my aerial in the rear for betteracces
I heard from my friend in Eng. 207 that their Seagrave was just replaced with the new Seagrave's that the rest of the city has been getting, i can't wait to see those vids up
The trucks made a left turn, then as I watched the batallion SUV make that right turn I was like, "no,no no!!! It's the other way!" Lol...I'm sure there was a reason for it
@HomleandSecurity There is no 'America' langauge you stupid cunt. Stop calling him a nazi because hes writing in German you narrow minded fuck! Grow up!
