That's definitely not road legal. WTF, unless you're racing your car on a track (which, YES, I KNOW THE VID SAYS "OFFROAD USE ONLY"), it doesn't make any sense to buy this. It certainly looks great, but I wouldn't feel safe with one of those in my car, unless it was a lamborghini or some ungodly fast car where crashing would probably result in death regardless of what happens.

Hi, can this be used for handicapped people. I mean, would it make the steering wheel lighter? I have such a car (I drive with one hand) , and I find my steering wheel heavy.

@csidaznigga youll still pass inspection without it however it has to be marked down on your inspection that the SRS light is on. which means if you get in an accident your insurance may not cover you if you are hurt because you willingly took out a safety feature. however if your smart and your installing a steering wheel like that youll have racing seats and a nice harness to keep you from lurging towards the steering wheel. you should also know most airbags do more damage than they do good.
then he just gave me a warning for my electrical seatbelt not working. was kind of funny how many excuses he gave but it was cool because he gave me a warning for the seatbelt. i did have my lap belt on though.
a cop once stoped me because he thought i was texting when i only took a glaced at my sisters phone when she picked it up to show me the time. he was making so many excuses why he stoped me. first excuse was the cell phone. then because he thought my car had no headlights. didn't had bumper and my s13 has the flip up lights. then came my steering wheel. "bet ur wheel has no horn" honked it "BEEP". then he said, "well its illegal because it has no airbag" me"this car never came with air bags."

does anyone know if you can just take the steering wheel off (look at 1:52) and put a different one on instead of replacing the hub for the NRG. So basically just use an aftermarket steering wheel with a stock hub. @BrandonGaetaMusic i'm pretty sure you'll need a steering wheel hub specific to your camaro for an aftermarket wheel. they range from 20-80 bucks on ebay

I bought one awhile ago but i dont think mine came with another set of bolts for the hub. So my quick relase dont work and my horn dont work because their was no wires to connect. But ill try to see if i can get the release going again. Thanks.,

i dont like this guys tutorial. u should be disconnecting the battery and waiting at least 15 minutes before disconnecting the airbag circuit. otherwise theres always a good chance that the airbag will go off without disconnecting the battery and waiting. the airbag system has capacitors that have reserve power should the battery get disconnected in a front end collision.
@chewbakage uhhhh buddy. yes i saw him unplug the airbag harness. thats not the problem. read my post again. he did NOT disconnect the battery, and wait a full 15 minutes for the capacitors to discharge so the airbag circuit would be inactive. if you disregard the battery, and install a new wheel like this guy, theres always a chance the airbag will explode in your face. because thats how it works. front end collision, airbag circuit opens, BOOM airbag in your face.
@NicholasBouchard Its actually when the circuit is closed not open, which is why you don't here of 20 year old cars equiped with air bags going off due to short circuits. Some of your understanding on how the system works is wrong but still I would disconnect the battery too.
@chewbakage when disconnecting the connector right at the airbag, theres a very brief voltage spike even on the airbag side that can detonate the airbag.
@NicholasBouchard This is a popular myth. The airbag trigger line is a simple switched line, there are no brains in the airbag itself. Disconnecting the airbag harness is not dangerous because there is no standing voltage on that line capable of triggering it ... Well, until it's triggered by the SRS unit in an accident of course.
The only voltage on the line is a low voltage sensing DC which is applied to check the continuity of the airbag coil.

Alright i know on this one they were putting on a quick release hub but in all the other videos/how-to's when they always replace the hub. Do you have to when putting in a new steering wheel or is it optional?

and it depends on the hub you get and the model of your car inorder for the horn to work. My nrg quick release, and momo hub allows me to use my horn on my civic
surely if he just connected the two wires that he had left before he attatched the boss and then the quickrelease to the horn button he would have a working horn? not making fun but i would think that would work right?
yea the hub, quick release and steering wheel dont have anything to do with your p/s. As long as you have clean fluid and the pump is connected to the belt and everything functions properly youll have p/s

Alright i know on this one they were putting on a quick release hub but in all the other videos/how-to's when they always replace the hub. Do you have to when putting in a new steering wheel or is it optional?

if you plan on getting into an accident/ you are a bad driver don't waste your money with this.
and it depends on the hub you get and the model of your car inorder for the horn to work. My nrg quick release, and momo hub allows me to use my horn on my civic

Does quick release change degree of the steering?? Like stock steering is about 360 degree i think. does it change it to less-er??

quick-release allows you to take off your steering wheel quicker. it shouldn't affect your 'degree of steering'.

surely if he just connected the two wires that he had left before he attatched the boss and then the quickrelease to the horn button he would have a working horn? not making fun but i would think that would work right?

You can still hook up the horn depending on what brand steering wheel hub you buy for instance Momo or Sparco. But no air bag for sure

yea the hub, quick release and steering wheel dont have anything to do with your p/s. As long as you have clean fluid and the pump is connected to the belt and everything functions properly youll have p/s
