  • if i have a 2 gb ram can i uppgrade it to 4 gb and then play wow on it ? please respond

  • I'm so lazy I'm actually considering buying a better laptop

  • can I upgrade my laptop RAM from 4gb to 16gb without problems

  • @WTFkidsGAMEPLAY IT depends. You need to check the specs to see if your motherboard will support that much memory.

  • where at on the RAM chip do I not touch?

  • how expensive is the ram and could i get someone at bestbuy to do this for me

  • @TheFreshCereal I'm in england so I don't know about best buy but most professionals can do this for you. As for the prices, they vary. In england, a 4GB RAM Card costs around £15 and 8GB around £30. Hope I helped :)

P.S. If you're not sure just ask one of the staff at best buy to help

  • @SporeGalaEdit thanx helped a lot :)

  • how much would it cost to get someone to just do this for me?

  • Yes

  • Can you just upgrade 1 stick of ram with a stick that has alot of GBs?

  • Can you just replace 1 with a stick that holds more GBs?

  • Please respond: can u replace only 1 of the ram instead of 2 and just buy a big sized or however you call it of ram?

  • @CardCrazyChad I believe that you can just install to one slot but generally it is advisable to use both slots as there are likely to be fewer problems

  • Hi,i have a 2gb ram inspiron n4030. If i buy a1 gb ram and place it in my laptop will it make my laptop have a total of 3 gb?

  • @MaINamorI Yes, if you have enough RAM slots.

  • I have two 1-GB sticks in my laptop. If I get a 4GB stick can i keep the 1GB stick inside as well?

  • I can't find a video on here...but then again I don't know much about it. Can you please talk about how to upgrade the cache? Is it a part of the CPU? If so, then I would actually be upgrading the CPU wouldn't I? If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.

  • @andyrooney12 You can't upgrade the cache alone. It's part of the CPU.

  • @andyrooney12 Hard Drives also have their own cache.

  • @sciguy14

I'm thinking about buying a laptop from Best Buy and it says 3MB of L3 cache. Some of them just say 3MB of cache so I don't know if it is L1, L2, or L3. I saw one laptop that had 6MB of cache but it didn't say if it was L1/L2/L3...etc. A lot of times they have the operating system, RAM, and CPU listed but they don't list anything else. I want to be able to upgrade later on but I don't know much. For example, I saw 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM & 4GB of DDR3 RAM...which is better? I don't know.

  • @andyrooney12 Well with ram, more is better assuming they are the same speed. You're not listing the RAM speed, so you're probably better off with 8GB, if you need it. DOn't worry about the cache so much.

  • everythings made in china..

  • Can you check up on the Gateway NV55C laptop? Thats the one i got. It has a Base Score of 3.9.

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz

    memory(RAM): 3.00GB

    Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics

Gaming Graphics: 1275 MB Total available graphics memory

Primary Hard Disck: (TOTAL)320GB (FREE) 249 GB

Is there anyting i need to upgrade to get peak performance, smooth gameplay, and Crystal clear graphics? I tend to run call of duty black ops on this... HELP!

  • @akacpkiller21 You can't do a ton to upgrade a laptop... You can upgrade the RAM, and get a SSD.

  • are the sticks of RAM 2 GB each?

  • What about processor? How do we replace the processor?

  • @razor005 You need to remove the heatsink, and put a new one in. It often requires disassembling most of the computer. I don't recommend replacing the processor on a laptop, since the cooling system is designed for a specific CPU.

  • im planning on getting more ram for my gateway laptop. i have 1 gig, but i want 2 gigs because it is quite slow with only 1 gig.

  • can you upgrade any laptop? i have an acer extensa 5620Z

  • @DeadlyKitty258 Every laptop I've ever seen has user-replaceable RAM. Except some netbooks.

  • @DeadlyKitty258 yes you can.

  • I like to use both an ESD mat and a ESD wristband just to make sure. The ESD wristband is actually more important because you yourself are not balanced in terms of ESD and there is still a chance of damaging components.

  • Soo, if i upgrade to a 64 bit operating system how much would I be able to fit into my little piece of crap?

  • @Ian758 As much as you physically can.

  • there shouldn't be any mac fans here, and i'm right.

  • FYI, the status wrist strap isn't really an option, it's something to use every time.

  • not really i never use one

  • Did you know that over 95% of all ESD induced failures are latent? IOW the failure occurs sometime after maintenance when heat or physical stress results in a partially burnt out run that finally gives up and causes the failure. It's not uncommon to meet people with lots of crashy computers who proclaim that they've never had a problem with ESD.

  • @LincolnFStern whats ESD mean? I built my comp 2 years ago and its not crashy at all

  • Electrostatic discharge.

  • I got 2gb ram... I think im gonna upgrade it

  • I only got 1 gb ram i need a 4gb

  • i cant say i have ever seen a laptop with the RAM on opposite sides of the mobo, i have only seen them next to each other or stacked together, mostly under an access panel on the bottom, with the exception of my 12" laptop where they are under the palm rest (they are next to each other)

  • @kasm279 yup same with mine

  • i might actually upgrade my RAM now ^^ thanks

  • cool was looking for this thANkyou

  • never had i seen a laptop where the mem is under the keyboard too

compaqs, toshibas has both sticks under the panel on the bottom

  • My toshiba portege has both sticks under the keyboard

  • wow you got unlucky

the satalites we have have all on bottom

  • wow even though i know how to do this stuff i just wanted to watch it lmfao! great vid man.

  • That music is annoying haha.

  • Nice video, I like the music in the background and the new outro. good job.

  • dude, is that a Tissot T touch??

  • yes it is

  • you have great taste =)

  • Haha thanks :)

  • I used to have those laptops at school. I've left now :D

  • how do i know which ram to buy and if i have 2 rams?

  • crucial.c0m

  • thanks

  • download a program called cpu-z it should tell you

  • once i upgraded ram on my dell d620 and i put the new ram in and tried to start it and it was stuck int he loading screen "windows Loading" when you 1st start the pc, but the problem ended up being my HDD which got fucked up when i put the laptop into hibernation, never use hibernation it will fuck your HDD up

  • I agree. I think it's best not to even bother with the hibernation feature. It simply takes up too much space on your hard drive. I have my hibernation feature disabled.

  • yeah you probably should have turned it off

  • thanks dude!

  • Wow, that 2nd RAM is a bitch to get to. I'm glad both of mine are under one cover at the bottom.

  • You're lucky :)

  • @tankjones16 yeah me too
