  • Brilli :) !! i remember this, and you led xavi round the clear round lol:) such a good job with him. x

  • My Paso jumps alot and absolutly loves it!

  • OMG! How on Earth do you get him to jump and canter slow-like? I have a Paso Fino, but his gait is so bumpy I can half-way post with it. *lol* I have set up a few small crossrails, but he won't pick up his back feet to jump over it. And does your Paso bolt? When I ask Dakoda (my paso) to canter, all he will do is gait really fast.

When he does actually get up to a canter, is a hand-gallop and he won't stop. If you try to rein him in and make him slow-canter, he gaits again. Any advice? :(

  • its all about your seat my stallion is sortove the same

if i sit farward he speeds up and if i sit on my butt he slows down

  • @Stormywv1994 It may feel like he's going really fast but actually hes not. Its just their gait. I have a paso (LOVE HIM TO DEATH lol) and I used to post to his trot but one day I tried a sitting trot...didn't move at all. The "trots" aren't meant for posting. When he doesnt pick up his back feet when jumping means he doesnt want to=lazy. Just keep going at it and if he still doesnt then that means hes not a paso jumper. I hope I helped! I love paso's!:)

  • paso fino's are truly amazing

    and that horse is beaitiful

i own a paso fino myself and hes perfect <3

but i dont really like the whole idea of paso finos jumping ITS MY OPINION!!

Its just tha it ruins the purpose of the breed

  • that's so cool. He's cute with his knees. Nice to see other breeds of horses jumping.

  • Ah! I love seeing the Paso's jump! I have a video of me and my trainers stud jumping. He's not as impressive as your paso though

  • That cool, I have ridden Paso Finos there very sweet horse. I ride a Tennessse Walker Horse that I'am training for jumping.

  • I am riding a Peruvian Paso tright now that loves to jump, he has cleared a 5ft fence by a foot before. And actually Pasos were bred to be able to do everything from cutting cattle, to reining to jumping.

  • aww this is cute. it's nice to see i'm not the only one that has a paso that jumps!

  • I didn't know pasos show jumped... we've owned several pasos durring my lifetime, and every show that i've ever been to, they place a big emphasis on them staying in their gait. lol. never seen them being told to canter and then jump....

  • They are horses-why wouldnt they be able to jump?

Many paso shows have a versatility class, which incorporates a figure of eight in canter, and a jump. It isnt discouraged so much as not encouraged-after all, umping and cantering isnt unique, whereas the paso gait is..

  • My friend has a Pinto Stallion, Calif, and he jumps INCREDIBLY. SHe is going to show him in Hunters in the Spring. He also canter insanly.

  • Nice to see some versatility. I like Pasos, but it makes me nuts when people freak out about not riding them constantly in their natural gaits. Nice riding! :)
