@prfctcmptrs Basically the games run on a server (not using your devices components to run the game but the servers components) and then gets sent to your device via the internet. at least that's how it should work if its a real "cloud". so it pretty much runs the intense games for you so you dont have to spend lots of money on expensive components (computers etc)

It requires a pretty decent network speed to use OnLive tho.

Im really liking this thing but I don't even know where to get it lol. Its kinda weird that this thing isn't that big yet but I can tell this is the future of gaming. My only gripe right now is that you have to buy the games but what if I want to rent them for example I have gamefly so do they have a rental service or will game services like gamely eventually somehow support devices like this? $60 a game was hurting my wallet.

And if you have a mobile device like a tablet, Ipad, laptop, etc you can take your entire game library with you wherever you go. This is going to be like broadband. Few people know what it is right now but this is ultimately where things are going. Get use to it.

@jhjh151 they do have some minimum requirements. they state they recommend a dual core, although i have run it on a pentium 4 and it worked quite well, although it wasnt HD. go to their website onlive.com and read more about it. the console woukd work on your tv if it supports hdmi. u can also try out free demos and the subscription is free.

Great technology, iv been using OnLive for about a year and i have nothing but good things to say about it. I have a 25mbps Download/5mbps upload with usually around 20ms ping, and i have no lag problems. Iv had gaming PC's in the past, but Onlive is awesome. It runs extreamly smooth, sometimes when my internet connection bogs down during the evening hours, i do get a slight degrade in video quality but that usually fixes itself after a few minutes. other than that its great, ONLIVE KEEP IT UP!!

@llarsen024 It's unfortunate that, up until very recently, Britain could only dream of speeds like that. Even now a FEW ISPs can deliver fibre optic broadband (but in many areas it can be that only ONE delivers that speed), vast majority is still on regular broadband and will continue to.

So it's interesting this is being rolled out in the UK. The UK is way behind, hey UK are behind in a lot of areas, so this might be a false start for now.

That and no-one here knows Onlive exists anyway.

Usually they have a deal going on where you can pre-order a game and get a choice between a free game, a controller, or a MC (which includes a controller of course) ..
