  • i chuckled a little bit when he said "by investing in your child's future and helping them get controllers..." and then picked up a VCI 400

  • Dope. Depeche Mode aca.

  • 35 people showed this to their parents and got a bike for their birthday :(

  • Thank you. I'm sharing this with my mother, and my Gifted Education teacher, who is trying to convince my parents and I that doing this is distracting me from my "studies" and that it isn't doing me any good, being a waste of my "intellectual abilities" etc. Thank you Ean Golden. I respect you as an artist, and now, even more as a role model.

  • you're my hero man

  • "a controllerist is like a penis"?????

  • @snipermantis Like a pianist lol. In all fairness, I also heard "Penis".

  • soooo stupid just bought the s4 for stock price \\at 950 when i could of got it and more for only 749 here

  • The song from the back, its from Daft Punk?

    Sounds me so familiar ._.

  • @luciferg12 Daft Punk - Something About Us

  • Hey Ean, Ian here, I just wanted to write and say i really appreciate you making this video, its something that, as a controllerist myself, appreciate. We DJ's need to help foster your youth and create new avenues for them to express their creativity. Not many other DJ's do this at all, in fact i actually dont know a single dj that has posted a video directed at our youth for their parents to watch!

    Props!

    Ian

  • everyone whos on eans dick get off, grow a brain and realize you're being manipulated like puppets.

  • i am looking to become a dj any tips

  • I love video man! Really inspiring, I just convinced my parents and now I'm getting an Akai APC40. Yeah it's not DJTT equipment. But when I start coming up with more cash, I promise I'll get a Midi Fighter.

  • I see what you did there...

  • Awesome video Ean. Excellent message

  • Ean, your a champ man. Nevermind these fools

  • My friends don't think a pair of turntables and a mixer are cool. At least I can still play guitar and piano.

  • @hipnopath your friends are gay

  • I would like people to know this video is for younger djs to help educate their parents - not as a sales tool. I want kids to get into music in whatever way they can, with whatever equipment they can. It's just really important that they have access to something. Music saved my life as a kid and I hope it can do the same for others.

  • @eangolden what happened to the ethos of make the most out of what you have? why are you selling S2's to little kids? this is shameful.

  • @technicalerr0r personally I think its great, but than I did come from a generation that wanted kids to learn music which helps better their skills in so many ways and alot of times keeps them out of trouble.

  • @eangolden Thank you, ean. Your awesome tutorials allowed me to learn controllerism, and I've been having a lot of fun. You're awesome.

  • @eangolden YO EAN GOLDEN UR A HERO IM ONE UR FANZ I LOVE AND APPRICIATE MUSIC PROBBLY SAME AS YOU N THESES NEW CONTROLLERS U DESIGNING HELPED ME GET BACK INTO DJING IVE STOPPED KUZ IT WAS BORING N WASNT AS EXCITING ANYMORE BUT THIS TRAKTOR IS JUST UNBELIVEABLE

  • @eangolden YO EAN CHECK OUT MY VIDEOZ IT WOULD BE NICE FOR SOME FEED BACK I ALSO WAS WONDERING DID U STUDIED SOME TYPE OF ENGINEERING FOR DJ TOOLS IF SO LET ME KNO WERE I CAN LEARN FROM I WOULD LOVE FOR MY PROFFESION TO BE COME A MASTER CONTROLLERIST LIKE YOU THANKZ EAN GOLDEN FOR UR TREMENDOUS HARD WORK TO PUTTING A CHANGE IN THIS WORLD PEACE -DJ SHARKIE 408

  • @eangolden jw... how did music save you're life?

  • Most hideous ad ever?

  • ARRRGH I thought I was the only person in the world to think about cutting up and remixing Daft Punk's There's Something About Us. Is there a recording I could listen to? It sounds really good on this video.

  • this guy is really cool

  • if i had this video when I was a kid I could have got anything I wanted!! cool video, big ups on encouraging the young people

  • Ean man, you are one of the people that inspired me to get into controllerism....and when you come out with this message promoting this art to teens and young adults...it makes you that much cooler.

  • I still think that guitar and piano are better instruments but if your child likes modern music this is better than drugs and hanging out in pubs getting drunk. I've got Numark gear and it's really good relax to mix something and a great feel when people dance to your music... My opinion is - if your child doesn't like "normal" instruments at all and has very few hobbies, this is probably something that will grab his attention and can teach him some musical feeling. I'd hit it.

  • omg....

  • This made me almost spit my cereal out this morning in laughter. I thought that only happened in movies. "Mom. Dad. . . I want to become. . . a CONTROLLERIST. Yes, it's the modern day version of an electric guitar, and it will make me feel REAL COOL". This is what the music has been reduced to. It's great.

  • This is embarrassing

  • @CubeRepublic how?

  • not sure if controllerism is comparable to learning a proper instrument..

  • mi parents supported me after watching this video and until they saw the prices

  • @Aleskorpion Dude The Midi Fighter isnt that expensive ...you just need one midi fighter and a decent entry level laptop to get started. I started off with a cheap Behringer UMX 25 keyboard controller and it got me so far in terms of djing live with ableton and playing synth on top of my mixing was epic.

  • @Kill3rk1 r u a pro dj?

  • @Aleskorpion Yes I am ...Been mixing and scratching for the past 8 years now ....started off on turntables. I own my own indie label called Killer-k Entertainment.cc here in S.A. If you are living in The States or any where in Europe then Midi controllers will be cheap, but over here in S.A things are way over priced in my opinion.

  • @Kill3rk1 wow, awesome!! do you have any second hand controllers or a midi fighter you dont need? i wanna buy mi stuff but second hand would be ok. and with indie label do you mean indie music label? can you teach me how to create song and mix? or just help me? thanks in advance! (subbed btw)

  • moreover they will end up with gear they dont need and there goes the money ... also you dont mention the skills required for being a good dj such as deep knowledge of music .. staying up to date and constantly learining new things and techniques ... you also dont mention the ear training and other stuff needed ... anyway very nice informational video ... keep up the good work ... love your videos !!!!

  • this is an awesome and very nice video but i have to mention that its just too good to be true ... first of all you dont mention that this stuff cost way more than the average familly can afford ... secondly you are calling out FOR EVERYONE you dont consider things like talent , willingness and stuff ... thirdly you dont seem to think that if a little boy / girl wants to be a dj but dont have any talent and cant success in creating a good mix or doing anything at all they will be so dissapointed

  • mom and dad disliked this video 13 declines....

  • Parents you better start off cheap. You buy your kid a $800 Midi controller and you might see it sitting in a corner in 3 months collecting dust. Numark Mixtrack, 200 bucks and if your kid can't grasp the fundamentals of DJing with that, then they are not going to be a DJ. If they like it then buy them the expensive stuff later, they will appreciate it a lot more.

  • just convinced my mom to let me get a midi fighter thankyou ean golden

  • Ean Golden letting these Rents now what time it is!

  • Controllerist sounds too pompous or something to me... Being a DJ isnt about what equiptment u use or what music u play, its about getting people in the mood to dance, party, or tune into your show if you're on radio. Being able to rip a controller is an awesome skill and definitely helps enhance a set, but if u can get a party started with an iPod than go for it

  • @BedroomDeejayin amen brother

  • Maybe the parents should invest in getting their kids a keyboard or guitar have them take lessons in music theory and learn how to arrange and produce music before they try to be a Controllerist because lets face it without song writers , musicians , producers , making the music what will a Controllerist have to control? Just saying.....

  • @BtrayinMF

what whould writers, musicians & producers be without dj's promoting them; think about that!

  • @superbuny007 ah very true

  • Very smart marketing!!, that is all though.-INSERT HIPPY COMMENT= Its about the music man!

  • nice

  • Would be great if I could customize my order so I can buy just the equipment I want. Because of the VAT my parents have to pay 1625$ so it would be great if I could cut out the unnecessary items like the bag and the headphones while still being able to buy the rest of the bundle because I know I can buy it if i could cut out 200-300$.

  • my mom was about to by me a traktor controller... then she saw the price...

  • it's not another name for a dj!!! I love that Ean is giving it a name, a "controlerrist". This helps me stomach the new wave. So question is..are you controllerist or a dj? I'm a dj, but I can appreciate the controllerist.

  • controllerist? didnt know that was another name for a DJ...

  • OOOOooooo White Midi Fighter Pro, me want!

  • Very nice move Ean :D

  • very nice brother :)

  • nice touch Ean.

  • nice advertisement!

  • btw the tracks called Daft Punk - Something About Us (Cherokee Remix)

  • Brilliant video and wish i had this when i started 7 years ago. Personally my parents are in their 60s and don't fully understand and grasp the concept of DJing, producing and essentially making a career from it so more videos like this from you Ean would be fantastic.

    Great job !

  • This is a genius video

  • You're a genius Ean

  • just in time for christmas

  • does anybody know if it comes with traktor?

  • @DjAfromaniac Check they're website it will give you the information.

  • nice one man!

    respek

  • I become a Traktor S2 to Chrismas!!!

    Reason: YOU :D

    <3

  • you did again huh, +1, great job Ean...

  • Dear mom and dad can I pweeez have that white and baby blue midi fighter in this vid? Thaaannksss

  • DJTT is taking advantage of the holidays. They are also now focussing on the noob market.

  • Comment removed

  • @bliss666 Everyone started out being a noob ;)

  • @bliss666 Yeah but then again noob market is massive, and I think them taking advantage of it in this way involving parents is a clever way of trying to expand their pretty small company.

  • @bliss666 No, this is to help young DJs. If he wanted more money, he would bundle his tutorials into a DVD. He just wants to help.

  • nice one ean that shows us that you care about everyone in the community

  • nice approach

  • if i had a kid, i would be so happy if he gave me this video! Good job!

  • Please kids learn to play guitar, bass, piano, trumpet, violin and other cool instruments.

We need more real musicians out there!

  • @zinkelzonkel Really? We need more "real" musicians? If anything, DJs are a minority. Several people I know play bass/guitar or do vocals. No one but me DJs.

  • Ohhh dawd this guy is such a douchebag

  • @bowlofweedies Are you fucking serious, he is one the best controllerists in the world.

  • I really could've used this video a year or two ago.

  • Cool ad Ian.

  • when you typed djtechtools in your browser i begged porn would pop up

  • If you are of the age where you have to ask your parents to buy you this stuff you shouldn't be getting into Djing or Controllerism. I started out by taking piano lessons for 10 years from age 8 to 18. It was invaluable for my growth as a musician. And after looking at those offered bundles this just seems like a marketing strategy to turn some profit. Over $700 dollars for an "essential" bundle? Give me a break. You could get into the game for a quarter of the price.

  • @MrDeemsMusic Your 10 years of piano lessons were way more than $700.

  • @blink13productions I see you missed my point entirely. Grats.

  • @MrDeemsMusic Yeah like A-Trak at what 15 had a full time job down went to school and managed to be DMC champion, seriously dude if a kid wants to play piano they'll play piano if a kid wants to just DJ and then learn later knowing music helps then thats on them, let kids be kids. I bet A-Trak didn't pay for his first rig and I bet he bugged his parent's for one.

  • @wongaling That would be great and all if everyone was as driven and gifted as A-Trak. I've taught some 12 year olds that are right now better than I was when I was 20 at DJing. But they are few and damn far between. Learning foundational music is much more realistic at a young age than the more fringe forms of music. You increase adaptability of knowledge and probability of the kid actually sticking with it.

  • @MrDeemsMusic Mate I'm not questioning that at all I agree with you but seriously kids wanna do whats "cool" at the time, and I think we'll all agree that hitting switches for the bitches (Djing/ Controllerism) is cool kids don't look ahead and think oh golly I wanna be a DJ so I'll learn music theory for a few years and then do ear training so I can pick the key of any song and then do mind mapping so I can remember what songs are in what key, kids just wanna have fun.

  • @wongaling You have to keep in mind that this video is supposed to convince the parents. Not the kids. I just see this video as a sales pitch for DJTT to sell their products in over priced bundles. This video is aimed at persuading parents to buy gear for their children who obviously can't pay for this kind of equipment themselves and I find it to be in bad taste since it isn't giving the most ideal and beneficial option for a child to have a long and prosperous career in music.

  • @wongaling And learning piano can be very cheap. Given the plentiful resources online these days that I didn't have growing up and the extremely cheap midi keyboards that have built in sounds. You could get a kid started on piano for $150.

  • @MrDeemsMusic Yea I agree with you man I don't see why this is still going on, all I'm saying is kids wants whats "cool" now irrelevant of pricing, and yea no doubt I'm just starting to teach myself keyboard via the internet with a midi Keyboard (granted mine was pretty pricey) but you could get started on keyboard for a shit load less than $150.

  • @wongaling lol fyi A-Trak is a guitarist :)

  • @BtrayinMF doesn't surprise me at all, I played guitar for like 9 years before I even thought about mixing two songs together. And I think you completely missed my point.

  • @wongaling im sorry i guess i did can you elaborate on it for me?

  • HAHAHA, classic

  • you're my hero... i'm using this to get new kit from my mom...

  • just what we need more of in the game.. kids that have mommy and daddy buy them everything.

  • perfect timing for me

  • this is great for close minded parents who dont understand electonic music/instruments. just dont tell them when there kid get famous they will be snorting coke off porn stars tits at clubs :)

  • EAN IS THE CONTROLLERIST GOD

  • Great idea making this :)

  • l0ll
