  • Dollar marguaritas in 94/95. The most wonderful bar and truly a place that made an imprint that will last forever. Warm Louisiana evenings, busy bar, free pool and great music. . . Finished off at louies 24hr hash browns.

  • I lived above the Library for 2 years, and watched many a great band at this bar. Friends of mine were in El Tuco. This was where all the local bands played, and we could play originals, not covers. I had moved away by the time this happened. It really was a magical place. Di d you know the Rem played there? I've gotta share this video...

  • it was filled with lawyers, hippies, punks, freaks, biz-men, bikers, students, teachers, black, white, just everything on a friday 50 cent afternoon and never saw a fight.

  • i was watching a documentary on sex lies and videotape and they showed the sister walking up to and into the bayou, i screamed thats the bayou, funny. i still have a shirt walk in crawl out and many times i did ..... ah glory days

  • im doing nothing right now, a pilot here, if i rebuilt it would they come?

  • That was the OFFICIAL death of Chimes Street...

    RIP

  • There were a few scenes from the movie "Sex, LIes and Videotape" that were shot in here... Laura San Giacomo was the bartender. That was, I think, 1988 or 1989 (probably 89). So you can see what it USED to be like inside there, thanks to Mr. Soderbergh.

  • THATS SOME SAD SHIT THERE.

  • I graduated in 94 and loved the Bayou. Chimes street isn't the same.

  • I used to buy Abita draft there...when the Abita Brewery was merely a 20 keg per week operation. Memories...

  • I can remember going to the Bayou and the Library (gone too) about twenty years ago. Lived at King's Palace Apartments on the edge of Chimes (gone as well).

  • The saddest footage on You Tube. Well maybe not but for me it was a day from hell. Chimes street never was the same again. The Library then the Bayou. The memories I made there over the years.WOW.

  • One of the saddest parts of this footage was seeing John, Voodoo Patrick and Demon Ones murals go with it. Still have one of the melted cans from the collection above the bar. It will always be my least favorite memento.

  • Where is this exactly?

  • on Chimes street, right next to Highland Coffee, just outside the LSU campus

  • when did this happen?
