Frankie Laine has been ( and allways will be) my very favorite singer. I have never heard anyone with such a voice so heart filled and meaningfull. Ust to get laught at for listening to him growing up in the 90's, But i never cared. Frankie was a great artist for both country and jazz alike. and a million times better than anything out there today country wise.
Iam from 1965 but i love the older music , i learn al the music from my father , i love to listen to all this music, i wish i was born al little earlyer (for the music only and the cars :-)
And now my oldest daughter 21 years loves johnny cash ,she dress herself like ladys from the rock and roll years , SO nice :-) Iam a proud father (sorry for the bad englisch , its not my language , i speak Flemisch.
This guy had so many beautiful hits - one of my favorites, no matter what he sang. As I sat and listened to this song it took me back to summers in the early 60's. Thanks so much for posting this.
AS. MOST OF. THE PEOPLE. WHO. SENT. THERE COMMENT. I TOO GREW ON FRANKIES. UNFORGETABLE. SONGS.I RAISE MY HAT FOR THIS. OUTSTANDING. VOICE.NABIL. H. DAJANI.
I Agree I also grew up on this kind of music, and the Blues, because without it we would not have the wealth of Music we have today many a Star though the decades have covered a lot of what went before and God bless them all. Thank God that I did grow up with it, because without it, life would be dull.
I gave it a dislike. It's not the original recording that Laine made back in '53. I have no problem with it being uploaded, but it should be labelled by the uploader as a re-record.
I was with Frankie Laine for a week in late 1974 when he appeared at Blightys Night Club in Manchester. I was supposed to stop the fans getting to him, believe me he wanted them to shake his hand and signed all autographs just could not do enough for the people that had paid to see him. This was every single night and he ripped the place apart with hiss massive voice and personality. What a true gentleman and he gave me a signed LP at the end, shook my hand and smiled, Brilliant Voice, Great Man
SO many talented artists before and after this no talent douchebag.... ouch.. sorry i stumbled upon this steaming piece of shit... sounds like some drunken kareoke....
I am 67 years old. Frankie Laine was one of my singing heros during the fifties and later on. My daughter bought me a karaoke for my 65th birthday two years ago,and one of the first songs that i recoded on it was "I Believe" and i recently posted it on youtube and dedicated it to my grandchildren. He was an inspiration. Thank you for posting this.
the first record I ever bought was by Frankie Laine my sister and I still remember it not just for the pleasure it gave but because I left it on a chair and my dad sat on it and of course records being as they were then it broke and we laugh about it still
@cliftonbird ...Lol now adays you can get hold of the record on cds now it shows how small the records can chance..thankyou for yr comment and merry christmas n all the best for the new year 2011.
When I was aroung 9/10 years old my Dad a policeman in New Orleans use to take me to the Blue Room in the Roosevelt Hotel to see Mr Laine and we had the pleasure of taling to him after the show, this was TRULY a STAR, he will me missed.
I met him in VietNam and had the luck to speak to him for a few minutes. I had been introduced to him. About 5 years later, I'm flying out of the windy city at midnight. Yes, at that time you could, bound for LA and I run across Frankie. He approached me, remembered my name and where we met. What a great guy. In spite of success he was still a midwestern boy.
Great song being sung by American Jazz legend singer/composer, Frankie Laine!! (I bet Elvis was listening to Mr. Laine before he covered this song.) Thanks for posting this video, BlueBabeDolphin!! Best regards, John
