@mr2punk4u Along with that, I'd like to add one final thing that you can't seem to grasp. Jazz is IMPROVISATIONAL. This means that there aren't any strict ties as to what one should play. Although the traditional way of placing the hi hat is on counts 2 and 4, the music may call for something different, or the drummer may choose to use that particular voice to accent a certain count. What you are basically saying is that if a rock drummer doesn't play his backbeats on 2 and 4

well not to take anything away from this video, but just as a point of interest, ex guitarist for all shall perish (luke jaeger) has a solo project called sleep terror and he fuses really fast, technical, and heavy as shit metal, with may different genres such as jazz, blues, prog, lil lounge, i even heard a song fused with flamenco. he is a superb guitar player and has so much versatility. if he and mr roddy did some collab, it would rule the world.
