  • I imagine that the original plan was for Oscar himself to sing this song, but somehow, Oscar, or Carroll Spinney, couldn't do it, so Robin had to take it.

    Trash" - Robin Gibb

  • "It's not that I don't understand, but when the great things that I've planned just get wrecked eventually, trash.. is everything to me."

How can you NOT love a song with a lyric like that? Joe Raposo at his best.

  • This is from my favorite childhood album! I can't help but smile!

  • My number one favourite Sesame Street Fever song. Seriously. I listened to that album a thousand times. Haven't heard it for 30+ years. Thanks for posting!

  • Wow! It's amazing that Oscar was orange back in the old days and that the Bee Gee's did this song as well.

I guess he went green from being in the garbage can with rotting food for so long. :D

  • I love how Sesame Street and the Muppet Show can make such catchy tunes. And they can really get you to think too.

  • @loszhor

ik yeah. Joe Raposo and some of the other writers were good at fitting their guest vocalists and imitating all the styles they could think of.

  • My god-brother that collects a ton of records just played this for me the other day, I fell in love with the funk beats.

  • This is a less well known lead vocal from Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. The song was written in 1978 by Sesame Street songwriter Joe Raposo.
