Honestly, when I first heard some of Graham's work with The Marbles, I was quite shocked and surprised-in a pleasant way-to hear his vocals in a poppier late 60's setting, especially as produced by the Bee Gees. However, While I like the bulk of the Marbles tracks I've heard so far, And I do like Bacharach, I just don't care for this version of that song. It's as almost if Graham is being forced to sound like Engelbert Humperdinck here.
What a beautiful song,so sad though. Why cant anybody write a ballad like this anymore,i wonder?.And Graham Bonnet's vocals are fantastic, when the chorus comes and the orchestra and his rousing vocal kick in i get goosebumps everytime.
