I own a Tassimo T45. It's quite impressing how many different kinds of coffee, latte etc it can make (in USA it's variety is huge). However:
-it makes only hot drinks
-it has only 3 bars pressure to produce them
-according to "rumours", neither of Tassimo or Dolce Gusto etc can make a great espresso such as Nespresso. However, I love Tassimo's Caramel, Latte etc.
In conclusion, if you are keen only in coffee, Nespresso is the way, if you like a variety, Tassimo is definitely a winner.
I agree with the others.. I know tassimo very well from my promotor work, and i also know that it takes only 45 seconds to make a big cup of coffee.. Yours take a lot longer. Maybe something wrong?
It is a big difference in the espresso Nespresso makes and the cafè crema Tassimo makes in the video.I bought Tassimo this time after 6 years with Nespresso,the reason:I tried the Pixie and the Tassimo at the store and found the Tassimo as a much better machine.Better taste,variety and design.Someone mention the bars the machines deliver.The reason Tassimo delivers less is because it doesn't need more because of the T discs,this also gives the Tassimo the advantage of using less electricity.
I Have Tassimo, i like chocolates but i don't like the lattes and cappuccinos. Tassimo really isn't a coffee machine , has 3 BARS only, however Nespresso has 19 BARS.

I dunno if that is normal, I have the Tassimo model with the LCD display and it is much faster than that, still not as fast as the nespresso (My brother owns one), but pretty darn close. I love my tassimo! :)
Your Tassimo is really slow. Mine is way faster. Close to Nespresso, but stil not quite. Think it depends whether you buy Bosch or Braun. The main reason for buying Tassimo for me was that I basically paid 30€ for a brand new machine (not ebay) and I have a good selection of beverages. Too bad they stopped the Starbucks line in Germany. And then again, there should be cheaper alternatives to the original capsules/ T-Discs, even though good coffee is definitely worth the extra money.

However Nespresso UK changed from FEDEX to "YODEL" for deliveries. Just google YODEL and Amazon you'll see why I'm pissed!
I'm trying NE-CAP's now - the French seem to like them. If that doesn't work the old Krups is getting repaired and the Nespresso unit goes in the trash!
To bad...Nespresso does have a good product but chasing deliveries is something I have no time for. I am a busy addict and the dealer has f'd up big!

The nespresso coffee is great and with the aeroccino makes an awesome cappuccino. Tassimo UHT milk froth taste disgusting.
@picadillybkk either your machine has a defect or you don't have a mature palate.. . multiple companies make milk cartridges you probably purchased the shitty one.
1. I must have purchased 2 defective machines, oh dear.
2. My 'imature palate' - i can tell the difference between crap coffee and good coffee, its quite easy having spent many holidays in Italy and France. Also the independent coffee expert at Which had a similar view - i wish i had read that review first.

My Nespresso machine is excellent and worth the extra cash.
@picadillybkk haha you think you're so sophisticated with a "nespresso" with its stainless steel accents and high gloss finish. i also have vacationed in france, italy, and finland which has the highest coffee per capita. i also have purchased both machines and to be honest for the extra price of the nespresso im not at all impressed... its a sleek looking machine with a wonderful form, but my tassimo produces just as good of coffee if not better.
Something might be wrong with your Tassimo if the coffee doesn't really taste like coffee. The Starbucks discs taste exactly like the cups I used to order (especially a double shot of their espresso discs).

Basically wrong compare in this video. Haha Tassimo also has small volume and good foam of espresso. Do you really don't know it? OMG!
Also can enjoy each other brand espresso by barcode system which is make proper brewing time, temperature and water amounts for each brands.
Technically couldn't compare with just simple hot beverage make Ness~.
