Every song on this album is so unique and absolutely great!

Had the pleasure to live in this country for 2 years and I really enjoyed it and I could learn a lot from those Maoris.

Greetings from Germany - and for this song thumbs up! Thank you!

  • Some people here seem to have a very negative/low impression of people who are different as themselves.

If you feel spoken to: well you are probably right then :-)

  • Uga Uga......

  • aurajinv... I tautoko you... To someone on the other side of the world, and even here in lil NZ, Maori music is just a song to them, they have no idea of the culture and essence behind it, instead of educating themselves on our history and culture, they steal what they wish for themselves.- mana.

  • I just read your comment and thought it was hiliarious! An idiot trying to play smart by stirring up controversy. Although I agree with you and I sympathize, the fact is, there's nothing you or the artist can do about it! Crying a river on youtube won't do anything so let it go, ok? Need a tissue?

The fact is, most artists have already given up on fighting internet piracy -- it's like the United State's war on drugs, an unwinable battle, a pipedream that will never happen.

  • My favourite triceps track on Body Pump!

  • I Love Maori Culture

  • I saw this video on World Link TV, nine years ago. And I recorded it because they rarely showed it. This song is cool, even though I don't understand what she's saying

  • Ao Te Roa greetings from México!

  • We used this music for a dance when we were in 6th grade. LOL. I miss this.

  • Sweet! As a poister (poi artist) i love maori culture. Thanks for sharing this. *****

  • This is my own language Te Reo Maori cheers

  • theres an other version without dance music does anyone have a clue??

  • could anyone transloat the song

  • Yeah in the beginning she saying

    "Be inspired, inspired, inspired..."

The song's just about how the Maori language is lost and we (Maori) need to come together (kotahitanga-unity) and yeah.

  • Does who know what for a language she(it) is there is sung?

    Thanks in advance.

  • The language is Maori, which is the native language of New Zealand.

  • and the cook islands...even the new zealand maori came from there... ;)

  • Awesome Mean Maori Mean

  • love dis song. mean maori mean.

  • I was in NZ on a research fellowship back in 2000, and I saw this vid. Immediately bought the album, and it kept me happy the rest of my trip. The production by Glass and the music are sublime--really reflects the culture nicely. And, what a voice! It doesn't matter that I don't speak the language. I can understand in my own way the meaning as imparted by her expressions, her emotion. Thanks for posting it, as I've been looking for it ever since I left to go back to the States after my research.
