  • Adventure Bound School out-side Charlottesville V.A. 1985 thru 1987 Holla @ me @ merishane if youwas there at that time !!!!! CSC/09 in Lynchburg V.A. (U.S.A.)

  • I especially enjoyed this video. I rode 19 back from Lynchburg after visiting a friend on a train-chasing mission a few years ago. Only problem, most of the ride is at night. I really enjoyed Lynchburg and Roanoke and hope to go back some day!

  • Amtrack needs a new Crescent. Damn, that train is old as dirt. I was riding that train when I was about 8-years-old back in '79!

    Step your game up, Amtrack!

  • Well, aside from the baggage car and the diner, all of the equipment has been updated since you last rode. Just because the "Crescent" name is old doesn't mean that the train is.

  • @SirReginald1 You can't even spell Amtrak right....

  • If I said it once, I say it again...THE SOUND HEARD 'CROSS THE LAND!! Awesome!!!!

  • That's what I call a Doppler effect!!! )Bet. 0:04 and 0:15)

  • Very nice video. I like when the train comes and across the bridge. Nice horn too. I like that.

I gonna give you a 100% grade. Wonderful.

  • Are those the tracks off River Drive?

  • These are the tracks that cross River Road.

  • Really really great! The horn sounds awesome!

  • The sound heard 'cross the land!! :-)

  • I'm from Elon, now live in Eastern Europe, I remember that train...

  • F-ing Beautiful job, location, etc. Love the horn.

  • 20 was on time? Wow, break out the champagne!

  • Always nice to see Amtrak action not seen on the West Coast. Enjoyed the video.

  • love the video Bob. the trestle isone of my favorite spots in Lynchburg!

  • Yeah I have rode the Crescent from Greenville,SC to Danville,VA it was a good ride...running late like always but thats the norm..lol

  • I didnt know the crecsent uses Viewliners

  • All long distance trains on the East Coast (except for the Capitol Limited and AutoTrain) use Viewliners and Amfleet IIs.

  • You guys are lucky, to us. Out here on the West Coast, and in the midwest, trains use Superliners all the time.

  • great job, a lot of the time it is hard to catch the Crescent crossing the James River because of its times, but u did a great job here

  • beautifully done! where does this train travel to?

  • Thanks. New Orleans to NYC daily.

  • its about to stop in lynchburg,va on its way to nyc

  • How big is that stop?

  • If you mean how long is the stop at LYH, the scheduling allows for 4 minutes.

  • well, platform/station-wise actually. How far off was the train from LYH?

  • 20 left LYH about 4 minutes before this was taken. If you're ever out at the trestle, listen for trains clearing the Rivermont signals on a scanner, as that is right before they come out onto the trestle.
