  • vacum vacum vacum!

  • flower pot mod

  • my doing the same thing did you ever find out what was wrong

  • TPS is adjusted incorrectly, and since its a 91, it could be FIC acting up on the idle control,

  • Coolant temp sensor needs to be replaced..

  • or instead of buying one do what i did, go to auto zone and get some electrical contact spray, unplug the MAF sensor and there is prolly green diposites in the conections just simply spray both conections untill clean and dry dont plug back in but when it is dry plug back in and your problem should go away but if not then the maf sensor is bad and you need a new one.

  • okay listen if it is doing what i am seeing wich is a rpm drop at 2000 rpm that is your maf sensor (Mass Air Flow) sensor wich isnt cheap but it will be a ton cheaper to just get it used.

  • ok im not sure the exact items that have been done to this car but off the top of my head...

the tps may be having a ruff time reading could be dirty terminals or a bad tps can be checked with an ohm meter next would be a simple battery disconnect. leave unhooked for min of 45 min to reset ecu i suggest 2 hour could be other reason but its a start

  • you got 170515 on a 91 Damn. My 84 only has 160000

  • i got 176000 on a 99

  • its the throtle cable?

  • May sound strange, but mine did this all the time, did a boost leak check and its now gone, had a boost leak on one of the hard pipes

  • Yup this happens when you reset your ecu after a mod. The computer has to relearn the idle settings! It happened to my eclipse gst! after some mileage you will notice it will slowly get better you just have to drive it!

  • sorry but a Z is way differnet than a eclipse they cant even be compared a Z is way differnt

  • sorry my bad! I saw after adjustment in the discription and i thought he may have out some bolt on mod on the car! Depending on what it was it could have messed with the cars idle

  • i sugest start checking the EFI harness, after many miles can be corroded making false contact, this harness is the principal, runs from ecu, to inyectors, PTU, TPS, Engine coolant sensor, etc, i will change mine in a few weeks, good luck

  • haha, mine does the same shit, takes forever for the idle to drop after throwing it in neutral

  • i had a 90 model with similar prob. check (tps)throttle position sensor or idle air control valve. maybe and hopefully a vacuum leak kinda sounds like that. hope it aint a coil they r bout 100 bucks each and u have 6 of them.

  • Sticking torque converter maybe. Does the car seem to try and "pull" during the rev jumping

  • timing belt?
