This is very good footage! My wife works on the YorkTown, and she loves it, and loves meeting new people. I am sure that you enjoyed it as well. She has a lot of history within her.
@davisdanaamerica we already went it waS GREAT. saw dolphins on the ferry out to ft. sumpter.and got to see the real planes that I fly RC.it was really cool
my grampa in ww2 was on the yorktown B got shot 2 times once by his own side when a guy thought my grampa was a jap! then i forgot how he got another bullet in him but he had to be sent to another ship then sent home
my grandfather was asked to repair the ship and said yes and while putting on the fence on the flight deck he fell off and was clinged to the ship by a cable that stops the ship
This will be a bit odd to believe but , my fathers grand-dad was asked by the coast guards of South Carolina to help bring this huge ship in with his 87 ft shrimping troller.. but refused , for he was not taking the risk of destroying his vessel to pull in a ship. (He knew that the state would not fix/repair any damage brought on to the boat when pulling it in.)
Went there, got lost in the lower areas with 2 or 3 people.
We kept running into other people from our school (We were on a field trip.) until there were around 30 people. It took us 30 minutes to find the exit, and by the time we got out, some people already got lost near the engine room again. o_o
I was there today!!! and the flight simulator is ok, but i thought you could control it but you can't which sucked, but oh well. But I get to go on an actual destroyer tomorrow, because my brother is in the navy and the ship he's on is getting commissioned and i get to tour his ship, so excited yay!!!!
I visited the yorktown today 7/27/08. It was very interesting. Had my 3 grandkids with me ages 6 - 9 - 10 and the tempture was petty hot. Going back in October with just the wife.
i love the yourktown, i always get lost below deack. when i went we got the owner realy pissed when we broak down the fire exit and started climing on the 5in gun. we also had a huge ruber band gun fight with about 30 other scouts!

I'm going there for a field trip in April, I've read it's haunted. I hope it is, it'd be neat to see a ghost on a ship like that.

I've been there twice, never heard about any ghosts nor seen them.
PS: Sorry :p
