I agree with this doctor, except for two things. I lost 50 pounds in 8 months. From 200 to 150 lbs. I was NOT hungry. I did NOT exercise. I counted calories. I ate far less at the beginning of my diet because I was burning fat. As I got closer to my target weight, I began to eat more and weight loss slowed down but I got there easy. I ate mostly rice and eggs.
He describes a simplistic view. For example, that the exercise will be "no fun". Why? Of course it can also be difficult and strenuous, but it can also be very enjoyable. I think the thrust of his remarks about fad diets is accurate, though. There is no painless way to do it.

Further, I do not like the taste of overly sweet things anymore when i used to eat ice cream and chocolate all the time... I don;t pretend to understand how it worked but something got reset in my eating clock... and I am keeping the wieght off after my HCG diet.
HCG diet worked for me... lost 34 lbs in 26 days... its been 30 days since i stopped the diet and havent gained any back... so doc... im not dehydrated and lost 34 lbs in 26 days... what do you have to say to that?
I'm on low carb and I eat as much as i want. The thing is I DON'T get hungry. I am completely satisfied with eating 1400 calories a day, low to no amounts of exercise, and losing weight all the time.
people on Atkins lost more than water weight and his book explains how insulin has a role in weight loss and is affected by the type of food eaten etc.Your program seems smart and reasonable but Atkins had equal credentials to you and I havent seen any evidence from you that Atkins ideas about insulin are wrong..maybe exercise is more important than either of your theories
