  • yes but the follower doesn't STAY cut in half!

but I agree. His inspired brilliance of exploration derives to fundamental existentialism on the neo-juris prudence, ergo. And of that (nature) is most in part of the sum, minus the mean of hubris, ergo.

I agree. Odelay is at least 1/4 disterbing, and 1/5 accoladious, and 1/17 mind-bending, and 1/16 trying to be mind-bending but slallows down to just mind-wrenching, ergo. well said my peers.

    THIS SONG IS HANK APPROVED

  • ERGO: A Latin word meaning "therefore." In logic, ergo means the conclusion of a preceding argument.

    go fuck yourself

  • At first glance, this is a generic somewhat bland video...but between the scenes where the guy follows Beck on a Segway, crashes into a fence and gets hit by a car, gets cut in half and continues to follow,I'd say this is another proof what a genius Beck is

  • beck , come to peru :D

  • Amazing

  • his music is ingenious in that it's so raw and unpredictable, despite its simplicity it is undeniably brilliant, at least to seasoned artists of the sonic realm, music is from another dimension, there is much more behind it than we can hear with our human ears, but what can we see with our mind's eye? who knows

  • I wouldn't have better resumed my opinion about Beck. A french fan.

  • Agreed! The inspired brilliance/ingenuity factor is obvious...the concept that he is on a genuine, personal creative journey; never knowing where IT will lead him(and the audience)is the icing on the cake; personal taste remaining subjective;his spontaneous/curious, and unpredictable explorational mindset(nature) in the artistic realm is totally seductive for those of us seeking new frontiers and rejecting pre-digested industry FORMULA; which is what commercial enterprise promotes/sells .....

  • i agree completly name anoter artist who could even think about relasing a album like odelay a 3/4s funky and 1/4 disterbing following it with mutations a mellow folk album i think he has the most vairety out of any singer at the moment

  • Beck + Danger Mouse= Ear Orgasm!

  • superb!!! Musical genuis

  • The gulit makes people puzzled everytime !!!

this video is funny and great (3u0)

  • I can see the meaning behind this. Walkin' around, guilt's following behind him, doesn't want to face up to it, so he goes all reclusive, then later he makes peace with his guilt and gets all forgivin' and stuff. Good video

  • ha he walked out of an Antonnio movie into this video..

  • does anyone else think he looks like Fiona Apple?

  • superb song

  • definitely not demitri martin

  • is that dmitri martin?

  • nah Demetri looks younger than him.

  • damn it was funny

  • dont believe it is demetri martin...looks a bit like him tho

  • is that demetri martin?

  • i love this video! has a peter sellers vibe about it....very cool!

  • I am loving this song, no matter what Beck does its different and real, hes always original and he has such a great natural musical talent, he doesnt try to prove anything or put on a fake persona, I love him and his music!!!

  • what the hell are you talking about?!

  • This makes my Brain BLEED!! Argh! i can see capn crunch!

  • Reminds me of Whitesnake.

  • The funny thing is that this could actually happen to Beck, seeing how he's such a daydreamer in real life.

  • No One Knows with a The Doors twist on it :-)

  • Brian Lebartan his keyboard player is the weird guy following him. totally genius.

  • I felt Doors

  • simply the #1

  • Beck is genius! the feel of this song reminds me of a modern style similar to people are strange by the doors!

  • Sex Laws is the best Song of Beck EVER!!

  • Excellent. Love the ending.

  • beck is too good

  • I think I hear No One Knows in here, too. it's a cool song

  • if you listen to 'no one knows' it actually sounds just like "why don't you do right" by jessica rabbit

  • is there a better bridge between the centuries?

    i doubt not.

i walk these streets everyfuckingday. it's a bitch finding a good ciggy butt. still you can buy a decent guitar in chinatown for $19...

  • I would give anything to have been Brian LeBarton right then and there.

  • This song is so awesome, it makes me cry each time I listen to it. I want to hug Beck too

  • tuhle desku od něj ještě nemám, kurva...

  • Modern Guilt was a great album, but i'm hoping becks next album will be another odelay

  • Now this is a awesome song and video, well done beck

  • Beck is a fucking genius.

  • can anyone tell me about any other awesome chill artists like Beck or MGMT that kind of stuff like indie underground stuff Cage the Elephant

  • If only we could have more 90's musicians still around...

  • Dude is simply too talented for mere words.....

  • Short hair is better. I want him to be my husband : D

  • i think he looks way hot with the longer hair

  • that guy was following me once

  • Juicy Jay's Milk Chocolate Papers are my personal favorite. Anyway, I just have to (again) say - Beck, you're one heck of a speck. Thanks for the great music eh.

  • I love this song. I have listened to it al least 100 times.

  • I'm a little dissapointed with his new stuff. His older songs were better.

  • People....we have a real genius on earth! C=

    I LOVE BECK!!

  • this video reminds me of a dr. suese book..

  • 1:39 :D

  • beck understands what he believes in, even if nobody else does. This video is the definition of interpretation

  • lol!! i love the ending to this song. this video was so good to me just now cuz it gave me the trippyness i needed.. :D

    Thank You, Beck.!!!

  • this is an intense video are own minds set us up for something bad cause we are filled with such violence that we anticipate the worst but in the end nothing bad happened

  • Comment removed

  • Can anyone identify these streets? I know the last scene is Sunset near Virgil. Don't know about the rest.

  • Damn, I love that ending! It was so unexpected...

  • I S2 Sea changes.

    and Manbals

  • LOL what a weird but good vid!

  • The dude has come a long way since One Foot, Stereopathetic and Mellow Gold.

  • i love hugs, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! BEck I love you!! I wanna hug you!!lol!

  • Back for another fix of his rad directorial skills(among others..).

I LOVE what he's done to the website. Just so unexpected, so simple, original, so diversely creative and interesting essentially SO Beck...

  • Beck is awesome

  • This beat is a real toe-tapper. :)

  • beck has been consistently good for what, like 10-15 years????

  • i love you alll

  • I wanna hug beck!

  • i love this video!

  • Sounds like a, "DOORS" song ,doesn't it?

  • very, but his own twist

  • Love this song...and, I Love Beck...I want to hug Beck. We all have to remember to Love ourselves a lot.

  • But beck is my husband

  • that guy looks like Paul from "The Wonder Years" :D

    Excellent video!

  • so do I

  • I love Beck!!

  • Best album of 08 hands down!

  • compared to some of the crap that was released last year, i agree - Beck is de best!

  • Scientology is no more crazy than any other religion

  • exactly they are all ludacris

  • excellent. thank you for that.

  • pear pressure? idk beck is trippy

  • whats is the video suppoeses 2 mean? anybody?

  • paranoia i guess

  • doesn't the dude following represent his guilt or something?

  • not his best work but still better then most anything else you'll hear

  • just kiss him ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This Song Is Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was awesome...

  • Aww... They didn't show the ending where he shanks him...

    They censored it...

  • lol, We all know Beck wouldn't die even if he were shanked, confetti would just fly out.

  • Lols 1:39

  • fucking lushhhhissss

    yeah

sugar smooth uh uh bam bam ba dam love dah anah nah

  • here's a fact known by few: beck was behind 9/11

  • So was Bush and Exxon. But he got another 4 years.

  • contrary to popular belief bush and exxon were not involved in 9/11. Instead the plot was formed and executed by beck, ronald mcdonald, hannah montana, and multiple incarnations of the hamburgalar

  • ha but forreal he is in a cult

  • the cult is scientology and althought i dont agree with it have some respect because people do in fat i dont agree with anything other than man but i still respect the people who dont because they are people

  • Uh you forgot oj simpson

  • lmao

  • He even admitted to it in Beck - loser, but nobody believe in him.

  • admitted what?

  • It was a reply to someone else. I even forgot and had to check.. One user jokingly said Beck was behind 9/11 and I replied. Ironically, he got -2 for joking around. (typical on Youtube nowadays)

  • you don't joke around about things like that. its still sensitive and fresh in everyone's minds. WWII video games didnt come out right after the war, sure we didnt have the technology for Call of Duty but if someone made a game like that, he would be punished in some way by the gov't or people on the streets. ( or war veterans).

  • Well, I'm not pro or against what you said. but that was not insensitive joke the commenter said, he didn't make fun of the event. he was making fun , I assume, of conspiracy theorists and Beck, or it maybe just random non-sense.

However, there are a lot of games came out right after the gulf war in 1991, and too many movies and games about Vietnam .

but I totally understand the sensitivity towards such games/jokes about those horrible attacks.

  • what ever already... 911 was bad yes but get over it, do you bitch and gripe about the people WE kill who aren't necessarily "bad"? no you don't so stop this whiny bullshit and get a sense of humor, 8 years is enough time to move on

  • we kill a lot of people...more than have killed us

  • That goes for you too MODE ♫

  • Sample your own tunes dude, everyone can do it with some simple free software, and load the REAL thing into your phone.

  • I love this.

Modern Guilt is basically how we all feel nowadays knowing that everything we consume and do seems to harm someone or something somewhere.

Still, for such a heavy subject it's light and groovy. ♥

  • Amen

  • BECK IS GOLD***

  • simple+good=genial

  • Beck Hansen is so beautiful he makes me want to vomit. He's like a saint.

    and Brian Le Barton ftw.

  • I really love this video, and the song is so haunting. Beck gives me chills!

  • great voice!

  • to me , its like the guy following him is "the problem"

  • I'm confused. Whats his angle?

  • It's Belky

  • ha. He is embracing his guilt!

    Beck :)

  • ROFLMAO 1:35 !!! EPIC!

  • what? he's just walking .

  • Running In the fence lol 1:38 ^^

  • The guilt finally caught up with him

  • oh...thats all that guy wanted...was a hug : ) and Beck...who better to give a hug too...and stalk!

  • The part when he is riding the Segway always make me laugh.

Who is that btw, he kinda looks like Demitri Martin but thats just me.

    Love,

    Zelddaddy

  • It's Brian LeBartron, who is Beck's current touring keyboardist. Wearing a wig, of course.

  • Are you sure thats not Danger Mouse?

  • Positive.

  • Aawwhhh after all that -turns out the guy

    just needed a hug.....

    cool song

(to me he kinda looks like Andy Dick

    in a black wig)

  • that guy looks alot like johnny depp to me.

  • Stupid hipster, quit stalking Beck.

  • make me

  • Comment removed

  • who agrees with me that beck is a fucking genius

  • While that is stating THE OBVIOUS, it is nonetheless TRUE!

An undeniable statement of fact. Yes yes YES...

  • good song love Beck

  • love beck man; to me he is the modern age bob dylan...just my opinion

  • totally agree

  • -I totally just got the video.

Modern Guilt, he did something and the guy in black is BLACKmailing him. When the guy in black comfronts him and whispers something in his ear, his eyes widen... Like he's been caught.

  • This video definitely distracts from the actual song...

Modern Guilt, is a fantastic, but then again all of Becks songs are :D

  • chod mother fosaj ,ol owef wd;o hi2303 9fe wlfw oeg wbn w gold peins

  • I think the man in black is symbolic of a homosexual stalker that once followed Beck around Los Angeles for several weeks. This video is just a summary of the events that took place and eventually, once Beck confronted the man, he gave him a big hug and kindly asked him to return to his hometown on the Ohio/New York border.

  • Reasonable Interpretation. such an event he couldnt have imagined of before he became famous!

I wonder if John Lennon had survived the similer event, would he have written a song about it?

  • maybe it represents a persons guilt. even though its not on his mind, it will always follow him

  • Weelepricon has it right i believe

  • By "Ohio/New York border," do you mean Pennsylvania?

  • It definitely is a walking around song, but as to the meaning: It appears he is continuously followed by his "modern guilt" and at the end, comes to terms with it.

  • i love thiss song!!

  • I feel guilty watching this Video

  • I love the end. x]

    Its amazing.

  • i love his hat

  • Kind of sounds like "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop.

  • i havent heard the full album, but im thinkin of buyin it coz daner mouse helped produce it

  • Worth it.

  • The end is astonishing

  • yay beck, one of the real true masters just having a little fun.Cool video beck.

  • Holy shit this song is good

  • The "Master" at work.....

  • wicked song, omg, i love beck =)

  • This song reminds me of spoon a lot.
