Half of the reason Justin Bieber's songs get so many views is because people who hate it view it, talk about it, show it to their friends and therefore promote it - the dislike bar is evidence of that. Both hate and love makes videos popular.

If people dislike JB they should actually go and focus on better music, rather than talk about him every video promoting him. But they don't - because it's a fad, it makes you feel cool. Just had to say it.

Justin Bieber did get relatively popular, however most of his views were contributed by his dislikers. If you don't believe me, view his video "Baby", two thirds of the viewers are haters. I remember seeing his video before his hate fad came out, the dislike bar was normal - then when people began hating him his views sky-rocketed and so did his dislike bar.

Without the publicity generated in the first place, which was at it's peak long before it was common to rate his videos negatively, nobody would have been watching his videos at all. Look into these "artists" and see who is behind their careers. Lady Gaga and Bieber have had, collectively, the biggest media drives in the history of the music industry. The money put into it is beyond belief. You incorrectly equate views to popularity.
