its not the rifle they will use, read the dsptn. it would be nice if ns2 would think up ideas (like they did for other things) for the ordinary rifle... like a different clip dock or spring loaded stock (submg), or extendable barrel for short or long range fire...idk

[continues] It is unknown if this was to differentiate from other shooters, if Minh or the modeler were left handed... or simply my favourite explanation because they wanted to retain realism but enhance the ahestetics; having the casings coming in your line of sight creates movement in the scene, and back in the days, the HL-world was quite dull ;)

This mod doesn't use any of the Natural Selection 2 game code, so the actual NS2 rifle behaves a bit differently.

Looking good, glad to see an actual engine video of this game finally, but why are the spent casings ejecting out the left instead of on the right side of the gun? Would kinda be a safety hazard, as well as distracting in game terms.

Have you not played other FPS games? Most of them do this. Think about it - if they ejected on the right side, you'd never see them. It's more about visuals and feedback than virtual "safety hazards".

I would like to think that they are clips, so he has 3 more clips off 99 rounds. And the current one is the one that looks somewhat depleted.

The icon probably has 3 states, Full, semi-depleted (active clip) or empty... used clip.
