  • I heard that after 10, you reuse the words for the first numbers, like for 17, I heard it would be something else than jyu-nana.

  • there are two fours! o.O

    is it yon-shi?

  • @animefreak1467

no it just means u can use either one basicly

  • 7 is nana? i thought it was something like zichi?

  • @ohmygothicfaal 7 is "nana" or "shi chi" :)

  • 10 - jew would have been better lol

you could have had a rabbi for the picture

  • this is really helping me thanks so much

  • Amazing!! This makes it soo much easier. THANK YOU X3

  • this is the first time ive heard 4 being yon, ive always been told it was shi... im not saying its wrong just that ivenever heared it .....

  • @JaveyLover

shi has a close sound relation to death and excrement.

Although usually they are interchangeable, when doing ranks, for example, no one would want a death rank in Karate so they would use only Yon or Yo

  • 六 or ろく or Roku Should not be pronounced like "rock" which makes an "ah" sound. Should be more like "Row" as in row your boat. Otherwise you'll be saying "comfortable(raku-楽" or "rack(rakku-ラック)" in japanese

  • or jyu like jew lol

  • there are diffrent ways of saying the numbers tho it all depends on the modern way to say em :)

  • ИЧИ,НИ,САН,ЈОН,ШИ,ГО,РОК,НАНА,ХАЧИ,КЈУ,ЂУ

    Ето и на Српском :)

  • so easy ter learn~ ichi, ni, san, yon, go, roku, nana, hatchi, kyu, and jyu ^^

  • Awesome now I can count from 6-10 and not just 1-5, hmm. XD

  • ichi ni san shi o roku nana/sichi haxhi ku ju 1-10

  • Super cool! Thank you very much...arigatou!

  • thnx i love it ^_^

    lolz nana not granny!!!!

  • most helpful

  • Very helpful C:

  • I'm currently teaching myself Japanese with books, great Japanese movies, Enka music(from Jero), and sometimes Anime. I've saw two of your videos(this one and the "Te" form for verbs) and they make more sense and are in a way that are very well thought of for people like me to understand. Do you have any other videos that teach all other aspects of Japanese? I'd really like to see them.

  • Thanks for your comments.

Hope you enjoy other videos on my channel too. I'll make more videos.... :)

  • hi ow did you get the flower it the paper i know how to get the news paper but not the pix in it please reply:)

  • ein zwei drei vier funf sechs sieben auch neun zehn

  • zu blöd für deutsche Zahlen was?

Eins, Zwei, Drei, Vier, Fünf, Sechs, Sieben, Acht, Neun, Zehn

sry, nur das die hier mal richtig stehen.

  • que

  • When do we use SHI instead of YON and vice versa?

  • It depends on your preference when you simply counting numbers. However, there are lots of counting suffixes in Japanese which are added after the numbers depending on what you are counting. For example... -mai (yon mai) for counting flat objects like pizza, -nin (yo nin) for counting people, etc. :)

  • @snapkitten

i would try to avoid shi because of it close sound relation to death and excrement.

Although usually they are interchangeable when doing ranks, for example, no one would want a death rank in Karate so they would use only Yon or Yo
