  • I wounder when we are going to start using these words again.

  • THAT IS CRAZY!! WOW. THAT'S WHAT IT READS! THANKS!! MY GRANDMOTHER WOULD MAKE THE EMBROIDERY. WE NEED TO LEARN THIS ALL AGAIN..AS A SECRET CODE AGAINST ALL THE BAD GUYS STILL!!!!!

  • i am amazed. can this be real? i never expected paj ntaub to be a Hmong writing system but that makes it even more interesting! and considering women are the ones who sew paj ntaub, it's like they get the privilege of writing in our ancient system!

  • I wish I learned how to embroider cloth when I was young, sighs* It's to bad I have no one to teach me.

  • to correct my last statement

    I was Spelling KUV

and explaining how i got the word by deducting from the symbols...

  • So how does this work really ? i spent 4 hours on it and i think i kind of got it a little bit, feel free to correct me here's an example of how i think it goes

the frist letter of the word being the Frist part of the symbol for Kaus and its untouched because it's the starting Sound meaning that is the frist letter/symboland taking the sound U from TSU and combining it with the sound of V from VUV to form the UV sound and spell KUVE

but that is just my guess i'm no Scholar just a 19 year old

  • after i watched this i went and test my mom about the writings on the clothings.. ahaha she got them wrong!

  • i just wonder how many writing hmong language ? why hmong have too many writing language which one is the right for hmong?

  • This is the ancient writing system. It is up to Hmong as a people to decide which language they would like to use at a later date, we are keeping this one for historical value.

  • hey...3 haiv hmoob twb muaj 3 li ntaub li ntawv cas 3 haiv hmoob hos tsi siv hos mus siv luag lwm haiv li ntaub li ntawv ...yuav txog thaum twg 3 haiv hmoob mam li yuav siv cov ntawv hmoob ntawm nov for hmong international writing language ...??....

  • This one is solely for historical purposes, the others had their own reasons.

  • Okay...yeah it is up to the majority to decide which one is good or easy to used on writing, but i guess the majority agree to used the ( NTAWV LA TEES) because it is easy to write, i knew we are hmong we should create one writing system for our own people to used but i don't know why the majority like the easy way to used the....NTAWV FABKIS for our hmong write system language...

  • miao hmoob use of pajntaub as a written hmong langauge is a good idea. You have right idea, but the constant and vowel are not uniform like the pajntaub. When you look at the design of a pajntaub it is a unified into a beautiful piece. Your writing system lacks this flow.

  • When it is unified in the paj ntaub it becomes a beautiful art, that was the whole purpose of why they call it the Flower Cloth, it meant an artistic cloth. This was how the ancient writing was hidden. It did its job well wouldn't you agree? =p

  • wow i learn alot from this clip... wow i cant belive that all those were word

  • It's quite beautiful... hmong embroidery is quite unique.

  • Fantastic. The hmong youths really need to keep their culture and alive. How amazing- to sew our ancient written language onto our traditional clothese.

  • @_@ if this is true,i wanna learn it ...so its like we wear words and we never knew it (decoding almost) ... so cool

  • this is so cool..... i heard that during the wars hmong people lost all their writting while fleeing, thats why they sew it on their clothing to keep it.

  • very interesting for reals, I've seen these on hmong clothes but never new what it means, if its really is our language then I hope one day all hmong people know about it.

  • wow
