I agree. I think the only reason Remington s 6.8 got a nod over the Grendel 6.5 is that Remington had deeper pockets to lobby with than say Alexander Arms did!

Course I'm a avid fan of 6.5 Swede and the Grendel just caught my attention as it is in a AR platform and the Swede is not Seems the Grendel is or was winning quite a few comps too over the 6.8!.

@crufflerrick - I'm just starting a 6.5x47 Lapua build (bolt action).

The 6.5 was stomping on the 6.8, so they came up with the SPC II. it's really not much better

some people do, and some don't. do what feels best and allows you to be most comfortable and you will hit the target with less effort.

personally I don't do it (mostly due to training) you can see me in the grendel chrono video

Not necessarily, just line up a bunch of sheets of wood and compare which rifle/round goes through more sheets.
