Seriously though, all of those games, save GT and Forza are arcade racers... that's even how they're advertised... they are not simulation games, and they are not realistic. Having a car doesn't mean you know shit about racing or the physics involved... Or in this case... what games are realistic and what ones aren't.

I dare you to drift a hairpin corner at 100 MPH like you do in NFS.

@BackFromPurgatory NFS, and Dirt are not realistic, but Grid with all the driving aids turned on is more of a simulation. Forza is not a simulator either or GT. GT is a weaker version of Grid. Although it has more tracks and cars the driving is garbage and very arcade-like. Try Grid without all the aids, with manual trans, then talk about it.

I own Grid, and I've beaten it on the hardest difficulty, all assists off... It's not simulation.

The closest you'll get to true simulation on consoles is either Forza or GT.

None of the NFS games ever made are realistic, the closest to simulation in the NFS series is Shift. It's closer, but still lacks a fair amount of details when it comes to true simulation.

As for drifting in Grid... You do know that the physics between drift modes and racing changes, right? It changes between modes so that drifting is easier to do... I wouldn't know about LFS, as I've never played it, but I don't think you truly understand how intricate real drifting is.

I love LFS. I played forza 3 a lot at a friends house. I own GT5 along with a G25. And LFS is by far the most realistic when it comes to the physics. And yes. In GT5 i do play everything on the most realistic settings :P

It is a fun game to collect and stuff. But for pure sim racing, Stick to LFS

I never said Forza/GT were PURE sims, but they are the best sims you're going to get on consoles (For now anyways). But yes, if you do want a pure sim racer, I agree LFS is probably the way to go, I do not yet own the game, but I've played around in the demo since I got my G27, and it does feel spot on.

But I'm broke, so until I can afford to actually get the S2 license, I have to stick with GT5 or Forza 3 (Which, unfortunately, is not compatible with my G27, stupid Microsoft).
