Vast improvement on the original, I don't even like Usher !
How do you manage the tiny roll of (is it?) 16ths going from the snare to the hi hat without catching the sticks on the hihat? Hope you know which bit I mean, its not a fill but its part of the main beat at the beginning just before the open hihat.. almost a flam, but not. I'm just a beginner.
@ninjadrummist Very roughly, at about 26 secs and 30 secs through. Do you practice doing longer rolls at that rate, to make it easier to do short bursts like that? I'm still trying to do the ubiquitous near-constant 16ths as heard on insert-any-post-05-indie-or-nu-rave-song-here.
@TVforAliens Ah I believe you are talking about the buzz roll / drag stroke on the snare during the main beat of the song? Have a look on my channel as I have done tutorials on buzz roll technique as well as many others. Hope that helps mate :)
@uiane This was a bit of a cut and paste job. I used my Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones to play along with the track and then synced the audio up afterwards. It's a little glitchy in places but seems to be in time with the track for the most part.
