They have since upgraded their defensive systems to help against missiles, and they still get shot at on occasion.

@omgitsrez There has never been a chain gun on an AC-130. I think they played around with mounting a 25mm or maybe 30mm Bushmaster cannon on it a few years ago, but they've stuck to the Bofors for whatever reason.

A chain gun is a single barreled weapon is driven by a chain (similar to a motorcycle drive chain) powered by an electric motor. A chain gun really can't jam as it doesn't rely on the spent energy of fired rounds to cycle. Unfired rounds are ejected just the same as fired ones. The same is true of rotary cannons.

@Lucky7Brandon If Russia wanted it, it would be able to have up to 20'000 operational nukes in no time. How would the USA stop so many? Plus if enough nukes were sent on Russia to totally destroy it, we'd have a nice nuclear winter after that. So even if the USA managed to stop all the russian nukes, they would lose anyway.
But I assumed you were speaking of russian nukes...

@ivanlagrossemoule Russia, or any country for that matter cannot just use nukes whenever they feel like it, and it doesn't matter how many you launch. If Russia started a nuclear war, then that would be very stupid because you would basically make the earth inhabitable. We would ALL die. And America has technology to destroy bombs before hitting their targets. America has a lot of nukes too BTW.

It's really quite entertaining to watch this America vs. Russia vs. China stuff. The fact is that nowadays,if any developed country with nuclear arms (America, Russia, China, Britain, France and maybe Germany and Australia) were to go to war with another advanced country with nuclear arms, the world would probably look like Fallout 3, google it to find out what I'm talking about.

Bills have been past over the last 20 years lowering the number of nukes on both sides.Also American's were the turning point in both world wars.Russia had to pull out of World war I because they were becoming communist.They were good in world war 2 was because they were all in slaved and mind controlled by their Leader.The U.S. was fight in Europe and Japan still pulled there wait in Europe and was the Major force in Japan side of the war. The US pulled through the cold war better then Russia.
