it did dry my skin at first, because I have super sensitive skin. but once i started using it right my skiin looked so flippen amazing. but i stopped using it for a year and now my skin looks like crap again, but i think i'll go back on it over the summer, so the week of it drying my skin isnt seen. lol but totally worth the chemical burn for a week.

ppl need to understand to moisturize! the repairing lotion is NOT a moisturizer they just changed the name to treatment rather then lotion because so many ppl didnt understand that

It really depends on your skin , and what's in the moisturizer. Always look for an oil-free one. Products with oil in them tend to clog your pores, causing acne, and break outs. Also, for more oily skin , use lighter moisturizers. Before you ever use any on your face, put a little on your wrist, and wait 24 hours to make sure there is no redness, swelling, rash,etc.

Dry skin is diet related your blood's acid/alkiline ratio is greatly influenced by what you eat, if the ratio is leaning towards acid then you will have dry skin.

proactiv only works for certain skin types. simple as that. benzol peroxide can only treat CERTAIN bacteria and CERTAIN oils. if it doesnt work, you need to look for something different. i used proactive for about 6 months and it worked at first, but then my acne slowly creeped back up on me. if this happens, you have have severe acne or resilient acne

any kind of acne treatment facial soup can cause dryness. We all have our own unique skin. Proactive can pay you more while there are some cheaper facial soup out there that can treat your acne really well.

you don't really need to wash your face as directed on the facial soup. Whenever your face becomes oily that is the time to wash your face.

It just depends on your skin like he says. I have to use it twice a day for it to work. Even if I skip one evening I break out. I did have an irritation when I started but it went away after a week. But...like the guy says everyone has diff type of skin.

@MyDoggz Are you using the Green Tea Moisturizer after every use of Proactiv? Are you gently applying the 1st step, along with all of the other steps? Are you letting your face touch water more than 2 times a day?

When I first started using Proactiv, my skin because extremely dry, irritated... kind of like you described your skin to be. But it's extremely important to use these products CORRECTLY, (along with the correct amount of each step) so you don't cause irritation.

Even with Acne.org my skin got dry / red / irritated, but once I used the product correctly, my skin cleared up, and has a good moisture balance. Not oily. Not dry. Just in between : )

I use proactiv too!

What i do is just use the cleanser in the morning during shower. Then do the 3 step when ur about to sleep at nite.

The toner does not work so well on me so i switched to Origins Dr. Weil Toner and it's great

Also, make sure that ur washing ur face with warm water and not cold water. Warm water opens your pores and gets rid of the oil and grime on your face better than cold water.

For dryness, you can use the green tea moisturizer of proactiv after applying the lotion.

all the products work the same, they never completely clear up the acne :/ and there isnt a cure for acne anyway...i recommend just cleaning ur face often and avoid contact with ur hands..and using hydrocortisone cream often gets rid of the swelling and redness :)

I don't know where you got this information from. Many products COMPLETELY clear acne if used consistently. I'll get a pimple now and then only because I don't use Proactiv everyday, twice a day as instructed. Back when I was consistent with Proactiv, I never got 1 pimple.

Well, you first want to make sure you're only washing your face twice a day. A good moisturizer is any moisturizer that is non comedongenic - meaning it won't clog pores. I simply use Lubriderm lotion... However, if you have the money I definitely recommend Proactiv Green tea Moisturizer.

You're not doing anything incorrectly. It's common to get shiny skin after using Proactiv. Many products cause the same problem. From my experience, 15 to 20 minutes after using the Proactiv, the shine will usually go away on its own.

For me the proactiv moisturizer was oil free but it didn't give enough moisture. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for all skin types is excellent. Its odor and oil free, very lightweight but you can feel it penetrate the skin. Its costly at $11.00 a bottle (walmart) but really worth it.

I use Neutrogena skin ID and I wash my face in tha morning and at night b/c I have like a combination of oily and dry skin so I wash it twice a day 2 keep it from being oily. But I notice that it over dries my face. Then I gotta use a grip of mosturizer and it is shiny and oily again. What do u think I should do about that?

sometimes the problem is that you're 'overdoing' it, ya know? some people use so much treatment their skin just can't adjust. i dunno if thats your case but i do have a suggestion. i just use a simple, gentle face wash. sometimes the simpler you go the better your skin gets because it becomes used to the treatment.
