OOOh great audio!!!! I hate posts on this site that do not do justice to the artists' works...when I hear that arpeggio @2:42, mmmm - never get tired of that.
"Twist of Shadows" was a truly magical album...totally new, fresh and inspired....and "Evelyn" is an incandescent start!! LOVE the instrumental solo near the end..sends me flying with every listen.... Long gone are the glory days of Xymox!
been listening to alot of industrial, electro and all of that but getting more into the real gothic music, not HIM or any of those stupid bands who wear makeup and there labeled goth by the retards of america
(sorry to reminisce) Walked into this club in Los Angeles called Helter Skelter and this was playing - ran to the DJ of course, one of my all time favs.
"twist of shadows' m(1989) was by far the most accessible album released by Xymox (aka Clan of Xymox) Singles: "obsession' #12club, #16 modern rock, "imagination" #85 pop (1990)(surprising that the club version of Imagination did not chart at all in the clubs), and 'blind hearts'#9 club ..(but not pop)
"Phoenix of my Heart' (from the Phoenix album) #16 on both Modern Rock and Club Charts(but not pop).
Every song on that album could had been a single.
It was so dark and still so catchy en perfect finished.
I guess that if would Twist of Shadows would had been released a& couple of years earlier, this would had been one of the most famous albums of the 80ies. :P
@kvart99 agree 100%! Certainly the best track on the album and right up there with "A Day" and other classic Xymox tracks. Sad that the original line up split..Imagine the possibilities!!!
@kvart99 They kind of missed out on the 80s' truthfully. If this album had come out at the begining, back when Romeo Void, Flock of Seagulls, and the rest had come round they would have been held in high regard for the decade. I loved this album, but one album just doesn't cut it unfortunately. By time this group hit, we were firmly into C&C, FYC, New Order, PIL, Sugarcubes and the Smithereens. Still love the album but it landed at such an odd juncture.
the greatest of memories. Thanks for sharing such a great musical group.

If I have a daughter I will name her Evelyn. Or at least I would name my pet rat that.(In the future.)

@skepticinsunglasses Yeah, I like this album too, it's totally pop, kinda easy listening, and it has this 80's feeling ;)

My personal fave however is "the same dream'.

This is one of the finest album opening tracks of the 80s. Could have easily been a single.
