  • Yes, you are right, I was crossing the Sturgeon river in the video. We did it in September. Don't do it early in the year because of high water levels. I would recommend late July, August or September. We drove to the lower part of woods lake. There is a place to launch your canoe. I live in Sudbury. From Sudbury to the Woods Lake put in point takes about 3-4 hours. There is 80km of rough logging road. Travelling from down south, I'd plan on staying 2 or 3 nights.

  • Wicked - sounds like you did the exact route that I am planning. So you crossed the river, headed along the north shore of Regan, then north up the cart path, past the round lake there, and over to Woods? Put in right near a small island? Any more video, photos, etc? I am hyped as yours is the hottest lead yet. We can continue to chat in eMail if you like too.

    Thanks!

  • Sure. I can send you some maps too. What is your email?

  • Thanks!

I had to write it that way as it would not post any other way. I did sent it to your messages tho as well.

Thanks again - I look forward to whatever you have gathered together for this trip.

  • Nicely Done! Can you tell me something? What were you driving, and is this the Sturgeon River crossing on the old logging road? Can you also tell me your route? I am planning to do this trip next year and have a route mapped, up the Regan Lake to Woods Lake way. What time of year did you do this? Water seems good and low.
