  • There was a commercial for this show which had the following narration: "The year 2007, Earth is under seige by the powers of the destructive energy force known as the Spiral Zone. Created by the twisted mind of Overlord, a renegade scientist, the Zone turns its innocent victims into mindless zombies. Enter the Zone Riders, an elite force of dedicated international militia. The Zone Riders are Earth's only hope against Overlord and the deadly Spiral Zone."

  • Our Earth last chance...

To fight the Spiral Zooooonnneeeee (epic echo)!

  • Add another 2 minutes and 30 seconds to this theme song and it could crack the Billboard 100.

  • Goddamn those intros really pumped me up when I was a kid. Jumping from couch to couch, going apeshit. Good times.

  • There is no way that vehicle with so many wheels could have made that turn . It is a useless design!

  • @SuperMerlot Your completely wrong, its built like a tank and could make a 360 degrees turn without moving an inch.

  • @adrixshadow ah! you're right! that explains it!

  • @SuperMerlot Yeah! I bet you had it for Christmas

  • 5 people were born in the 90's, not judging, just saying

  • This cartoon was ahead of its time.

  • Why does the main villain look like Freddie Mercury? One of the best theme song... They don't have that anymore in today's cartoon

  • Surrender! or pay the consequences!! (◣_◢)

  • What the hell is a spiral zone????!!!

  • @soundbeans A man-engineered "fog" that controls the minds of whoever ends the Zone unprotected, becoming basically a zombie. Oh and it's already covering half the Earth in the series.

  • 5 persons should be banished to the nearest Zone

  • "Spiral Zone is known among fans as a series that stood out from other contemporary cartoons of the 80s because of its dark story." this cartoon is different then most of the others. A terrorist uses biochemical/biotech weapons to mind control the majority of earth's population. this one was in a category all of its own, and its dark subject matter the probable reason it didnt go beyond 1 season.

  • honestly, the cartoons itself were pretty lame, but the music was kicking ass !

  • where could I find this song with better quality?

  • i miss the eighties...every cartoon show had a good theme song... and was simply awesome to watch!!!...you know they dont even make music like this any more... the eighties was truly the best!!

  • "What do they sing at 0:34? "We are stoned"?"

More like "We are strong"...But hey, whatever makes your day.

  • @mitrooper peace and freedom we must own.

  • @vampirepunter Sorry for the incredible late reply...You are right, it's "We must own", not "We are strong", thanks for the correction.

  • In retrospect, it was a pretty dark concept for a kid's show. Still, it was a kick ass show.

  • @lastdragon55 don't remember what year it was released but it seems it may have tried to used the 'star wars' rave to try and make a new show.

  • @bd189 1987

  • Woow this anime is one the best amines that I watched when I was child. Thanks 4 downloading it

  • 5 people will be send to the spiral zone

  • if i were really really rich, i would totally produce a film adaptation of this lol

  • One of the best intros in the 80's. Ahhhh tha good ole days.

  • what happened to the old days

  • i watched it back in early 90s on Saudi channel 2.

  • @feduo45465 Shit man, same here, alot of Nostalgia here

  • si vous m'aimiez vous copierai STM,paske c juste un métro lollXD done My loves,my power is at your command :OXDlol

  • This is one of the few cartoons from the 80's that could be retooled as a live action show and WORK.

  • AH!! Yes the Aspire All Son!! This and the Absorbing Man were the most flat out outrageus names referencing dope I can remember from back in the day.

  • I remember this coming on right before I went to school. The only thing that made those moments good.

  • Well the reason why the show didn't last long was according to the voice actors, bad time slots, lack of promotion and poor toy sales and the feeling was perhaps the overall premise of the show was that it was a little too dark and forboding and there just wasn't room for alot of station's schedule

I remembered watching this on WGN back in my Grade School years and I thought that the show was pretty good, but it just wasn't as successful as the likes of Transformers, G.I. Joe or M.A.S.K., IMO

  • whys the world always destroyed in these old cartoons?

  • i see this serie in the end of the 80's

  • @TakumProti I SO remember that! the big skeleton one that trapped victims in it's hinged ribcage and infused them with undead ick!

  • if i had 500mil USD i would produce this cartoon into live action. i shall takes the team from avatar, residentevil and GIjoe to produce this epic!

  • @riderxriderx

I had the same idea too!

If it worked for Transformers and Gi Joe.... why not?

  • Comment removed

  • I saw it in Saudi Arabia It is one of my best cartoons I was looking for it on the net because I could not remember the name I thought it was red zone because of the red things they used to get

  • @aqassab I think you meant Spiral Zone? their eyes turn yellow and face turn nasty ugly in the zone or something.

  • In Germany less known, but I've seen this in France when it was aired in the late 80s! At that time german TV channels thought that this was unappropriate for children's television programs. What a pity, this was goooood stuff!!

  • can you be cured if you turn into a spiral zone zombie?

  • i found out thers a anime spiral zone witch inspierd the us verson the japanese toys and vehacles wer cooler then the us one can someone post the anime?

  • This was actually a scary cartoon. One episode had a family become zombies to avoid starvation.

  • @fvgbe342 You think that's bad, remember the Inhumanoids? One of the Inhumanoids could turn people into zombies and there was a whole episode where he was the center of a big creepy zombie cult. To say nothing of the whole show entirely.

  • yall should see the mysterious cities of gold opening!!!!

  • Towards the middle the singer sounds like the guy from Interpol.

  • someone should make a facebook group to try and get this cartoon back or be made into a film

  • i know a seller who has all the episodes on DVDs with high quality - 8 DVDs

    hes web page is

  • Earth's most powerful soldiers!!!

I want to watch it so bad ... but i dont know where to find it. Im even willing to buy it

  • OLD SCHOOL 80S AND 90S CARTOON SHOWS AWESOME NOW AND DAYS SHOWS SUCK

  • I like this cartoon cause it had an interesting concept. No makes good cartoons these days...

  • the best cartoon>>>

  • greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • We must own

  • I like when they say "Darkness" they show a guy with dark hair haha. Oh the days when you could find the villain by the color of their hair.

  • What do they sing at 0:34? "We are stoned"?

  • @Glitcher2000 hahaha ya i guess

  • SPIRAL ZONEEEEEE

  • Haha I think "We must own"

  • يا أني كنت أتابعه على القناة السعودية الثانية....كان قمة الوناسه.

  • yea , i developd my creative skills from all this good cartoons and now..am a profeesional creative cg artist..thanks to the creators of this awsome cartoons..GUYS TRY SWAT KATS

  • Funny now that I am older, most of my managers look like that evil guy haha! Now I know why I am always scared of my managers!

  • Mass propaganda against the commies...

    How I miss the 80's.

  • This and Visionaries are my fav cartoon opening theme's hands down, great stuff.

  • Why don't they do cartoons like this anymore :-(?

  • I wish I known but Saturday Mornings are getting less and less.

  • There is no talent in the world anymore.

There is always Dora the Explorer!

  • Sadly, because we're living an Anti-Hero era.

All heroes now are melodramatic teenagers instead of heroic n daring are boring dumb and many fall close of being emos.

Even Captain America was killed by MARVEL and although brought back on the behalf of the immense poppular demand and people's requests all over the globe, his memmoeries have been rewritten and only time will tell what great crimes they have perpetrated.

  • @lifeincolour09 They do. You are older.

  • @Chrai0n No, no, no they don't. Maybe the japanese anime but even that isn't how it used to be!!!

  • @lifeincolour09 because yuppies want soft kids hehe

  • @lifeincolour09 Cause it's too expensive. :(

  • @lifeincolour09 ... as a child of the eighties i fell the same way.... but check out the avengers earths mightiest heroes.....and iron man armoured adventures... they bock are preety good , good story animation... and have a good intro song!!

  • @lifeincolour09 its my theory that after 9/11 everyone became a bunch of pussies

  • @lifeincolour09

because free world is no more under the treat of a red army...

    :-)

  • I remember watching this, The creator of babylon 5 worked as a writer on this show. For a kids cartoon this show has some pretty intelligent scripted episodes that actually dealt with some weighty issues.

For a kids series this show and other like Phantom 2040 were pretty dark, no wonder my generation is so cynical.

This show could use a remake into a live action dramatic series.

  • @GTBurns48215 Spiral Zone was really ahead of its time and sophisticated. It should have been more popular than it was.

  • earths most powerful soldiers, are earths last chance!!!

can it get any better than that?

  • This show was awesome.. I grew up and practiced drawing the zone generators from the show and drew out battles with characters of my own.

  • are there dvd from this show ?

  • I loved this show.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that the guy that sings this song is one of the best singers ever?

  • I grew up watching this in Africa - it was great! Though I never did understand why there had to be two Americans in it...

  • What? Why?

  • That first ''Agaisnt the SPI RAL ZONE'' is epic

  • Lyrics are terrible but the images are amazingly stark and grim for a children's animation show.

  • Maybe not the best, but the message was strong.

  • Best damn cartoon intro ever. Well next to Galaxy Rangers that is

  • I have never agreed so much with someone in all my life. I applaud you, gaiusscipio.

  • remember watching this on weekdat morning t.v.(think it was wgn, here in atlanta.)anyway, wow brings back some memories

  • 80's cartoon theme song goddamn farking rox.. no doubt bout it...spiralzone, mask, tfs the touch, saberrider, etc..

  • wow its crazy to see how many cartoons ripped off a core group of really popular cartoons. here its obviously gi joe. but i saw something called moondreamers that was all rainbow brite. =/

  • i want mp3 of this minus the laser sfx noises. halp :(

  • Too bad, one of the most interesting american anime serials, no dvd, no nothing ...

I had to lunch at my aunt's to watch it ... then, in France, it just disapeared.

    A big waste ...

  • That kid looked creepy as hell. O_o

  • Man those 80's singers really put some soul into the cartoon theme songs. Cartoons these days have crappy music.

  • Cartoons these days have crappy almost everything xD

  • @toocool3 because man it was the 80's it was full of effing epic guitar shredding hair metal bands!

  • OMG awesome..there is this Spiral Zone and M.A.S.K that rules all no doubt.

  • man that intro has POWER i never even saw this show but man that is some fukken SPIRIT AND PASSION

  • There arent cartoons like this anymore with awesome intros!

  • So glad i was an 80s child. Does anyone know who sang the theme tune?

  • I don't know but he sang from the heart, he shoul've got more recognition, this guy's awesome he kicks some serious ass

  • this 8wheeler gun is badass !!!

  • The Bullwhip.

  • The guy singing the theme song really it putting his heart into it! Sounds like "Earst" a couple times though. Still, an awesome job!

  • this song should've been on billboard.

  • I could swear Trey Parker is singing this.

  • hell yea dude.like america f yeah!! from team america

  • Me & my brothers used to watch this every saturday.

  • What is he saying (First one)? I'm Japanese, so I can not understand such death metal voice.

  • to SAKISAKITOUGO

He says: ·Surrender or face the consequences"

  • Yeah! I love it ! I saw it in Japan, too. The song is still cool like 80's Heavy (Hair) metal. Not Bad.

  • This is badass! Guns, cheezy songs and explosions. They don't make'em like that anymore.

  • Yeah, and that's just a damn shame. Fortunately, a bunch of 80's cartoons are on DVD, nowadays, and I don't mind introducing them to my nephews.

  • Love this show, but it was only on at 4 am where I lived in Phx, AZ because of the "drug related theme." Too bad all my kids have are lame pussy toons like Sponge Bob. I get them DVD's of 80's stuff so they get to see what cool cartoons really look like. With real animation that doesn't look all distorted and theme songs that welded themselves to your brain after 1 or 2 episodes. Death to Sponge Bob SP, Courage TCD, Phineas & Ferb!

  • As a result of watching this show 20 years ago, I am now a total and utter badass.

  • yeah, the catchy theme songs made it more fun to watch. mask, saber rider, transformers.. the lot. todays cartoons are much different... don't have that certain 'edge'.

  • yeah saber rider rider has to be one of my all times fave for intros xD

  • I miss this show but I am not surprised this show was canceled. Most cartoons back in the 80's were first and foremost made to sell toys. If the toys didn't sell they didn't care how good the cartoon was. It was canceled. The long running 80's cartoon shows had high toy sales. (GI Joe, Transformers, He-man, etc.)

  • Maybe the toys didn't sell because this show attracted an older demographic. I was a high school freshman when Spiral Zone first aired in fall '87. Enjoyed every episode but I was too old for action figures. I'm sure many other great 80's cartoons suffered the same fate.

  • Yeah it was common for most cartoons in the 80's to have mild violence and gun play.

So many of these kids cartoons are so sissyfied nowadays it's unreal. Glad I was a child of the 80's....

  • as a kid growing up in the 80's, I cna sa that it was common place for cartoons to have alot of action and heavy metal music. These wee action shows for kids and pure fun.

  • damn cartoons used to be pretty badass

  • SPIIIIREEEEL ZOOONE!

hehe, love the way he says that!

  • hell yeah, i remember that show (a little)... it was awesome

  • I still walk around singing this theme for little to no reason.

  • I totally almost forgot about this cartoon, Kudos on posting this. These are the when cartoons were real and actually were worth watching

  • DUDE.....YOU are the MAN! I've been trying to get these little jerk kids to know that these were REAL cartoons MAN! Thanks for posting this!

  • Man..just the song inspired me to be a good man when I was a kid.

I won't disappoint you Colonel Courage...

  • damnnn i rememeber these...good ol days! they dont make cartoons the way they used to make em anymore!

  • This was my favourite cartoon as a kid growing up in Zimbabwe before Mugabe got on his bullshit.

  • Spiral zone was also one on my fav cartoons back in the day hehe im also from zim.

  • me too.. also tigershark and silverhawks. and thundercats!

  • sweet deal! im zimbo too!! lol! this is exciting- remember when tv was fun and cartoon started at 3pm (or was it 2). yeah, by the time i was in high school the cartoons sucked real bad

  • I've never heard of this, but the intro makes me want to check it out.

  • Awesome cartoon imho. I have fond (yet blurry) memories of it. It did have some quiet mature themes in it.

Here in Italy it was titled "Captain Dick" - too bad we didn't how to make jokes about it:)

  • is that... trey parker?

  • I wont be able to watch any of these clips without thinking about that, now.

  • that's what i thought when i heard this!

  • .52-1.00 is the best SPIIII RALLLL ZOOOONE!!!

  • Since we live in an era of remakes and rehashed ideas I feel it is time for this great show to get a run as a live-action miniseries... or even a couple movies. What's cooler than the upgraded GI Joe squad fighting Mad Max rebels afflicted with radiation sickness? Not a whole lot.

Oh, and I'll take THE CONSEQUENCES, please.

  • I mean this as a complement.

  • we live in an era of trash

  • I agree. Spiral zone was one of the last good American Cartoons that was made. Pretty much everything since then has been trash.

  • What of...

    -Batman TAS

    -Animaniacs

    -Pinky and the Brain

    -Darkwing Duck

    -Exosquad

    -Invader Zim (Fanwhores aside)

    -Avatar the Last airbender

Not that i am dissing spiral zone

  • Batman TAS: Great atmosphere and stories as far as a kids' series goes.

    Animaniacs: Awesome.

Pinky and the Brain: Even more awesome.

    Darkwing Duck: Had it's moments.

Exosquad: Never aired on any of my stations.

Invader Zim (Fanwhores aside): Fanwhores aside, huh? The jokes still went dry after one viewing. If you know what to expect, it isn't that funny anymore, especially when everyone elses catches on and buys stacks of stupid DOOM t-shirts.

Avatar the Last airbender: What the hell is that?

  • Avatar: TAS-A Nickolodian show done in Japanese Style animation, Very well thought out with for the most part likable and three dimentional charecters, good story arks, Plenty of Action and Humour which in general works. Was done fairly recently, although there are some websights (Avatar Chapters) where you can see all episodes for free.

  • Alright. I'm not really up on the newer Nickelodeon programs, these days. I was more of a Ren & Stimpy/Doug kind of person when I was a kid.

  • I couldn't agree more! What they have now is Dora and Spongebob...WTF! Those are not cartoons, lol!

  • Oh I loved this song when I was a little girl! I used to sing it all the time with my favorite cousin, lol. :)

  • The cartoon was okay. But protagonist name is "Captain Courage!" like it's will you ever take someone seriously with that name. Although the name is better than Sugartwinkle.

  • I heard of this show before, but this song kicks ass.

  • +never

  • I had a spiral zone toy. didn't last like the cartoon. lol! but it is one of favs. i don't know, but any movie, tv series, cartoon or song released in 1987 (yr of my birth) really connects with me. maybe....i "suffered the consequences" and became a zone freak....!? hahahahahahahha!!.. yup, i lost it.

  • Shouldn't it be: "... or SUFFER the consequences!"?

  • i grew up with this!!!

  • I had never seen this cartoon, but the opening theme is cool for sure, sounds like a Judas Priest song.

  • i wonder if they exist a full version off this opening song^^

  • When i just a kid,i watch this cartoons every saturday morning.I miss the Thundercat,Flinstone,Rescue Ranger,Tranformer....80's cartoon is classic!I love Spiral Zone theme and A

  • I wish I had seen this show when I was little. I love the music. XDD Kick ass intro!

  • This cartoon make my memory vision came back again.when i was still in school, this is one of the great cartoon i love to watch besides silverhawk,he-man and Japan Cartoon about football,KICKERS...

  • This cartoon is SOOOOOOO good, I really love it, I want to see it again, is a good memory of the old good times...

  • Never saw this one, but it looks damn cool.

  • I remember just a little bit of Spiral Zone.

Since Transformers was made into a movie, I think Spiral Zone, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Voltron, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, DangerMouse, He-Man, and My Pet Monster should be made into live action movies. Well, I know that both He-Man and My Pet Monster did have movie adaptations back in 1987, but I think there should be newer versions of them two for todays kids and movie goers.

  • Imagine that.

  • well think G.I Joe and thundercats are being made into films not sure when they are being released

  • Jeez does that even scare you alittle bit??

  • Not really. But then again, I lost a bet and had to sit through a Barbra Streisand concert, once. Now, THAT'S scary.

  • holy shit o.o
