  • mahamudra with attachment? joy is a good feeling, but where is selflessness ??

  • well 999.999 people out of 1.000.000 are too dumb to even come close to understanding of mere concept of Mahámudra teaching. It's just too far beyond their conceptual worlds.. They would resist against it so one would have to defend not to get killed by their rage from their attemtpts to go in in their ignorance. Their time is just not yet here... So the answer is, NO, NOT EVERYBODY CAN ACHIEVE MAHAMUDRA.

  • What Ole says about Western students (20:10) is very true

  • A certain Chinese Zen master said to monks: " Seek an understanding of live words. Don't seek understanding of dead words. If you attain an understanding of alive words, then you never forget them. If you only understand dead words you cannot save neither others nor yourself. "

Other master said: " There are Sun, moon and stars on a sky. But a blind man does not see Sun, moon and stars. "

  • Profoundly simple. He is a great teacher whose sincerity and deep knowledge shine through every word. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

  • It is possible to attain mahamudra sans special transmission.. I did it once (on accident kinda sorta). It was everything he described and more. He's leaving something out purposefully.. (makes me feel like maybe I shouldn't be drawing the theophanic vision, and showing people, but I'm just trying to get them to understand, that there IS something to be found, you will know if you ever see it)

  • Hello master, Thanks for your talk.

Too much words are good only for feeding the ego and sharpening its intellect. Pleaes forgive me but its better to keep it simple and easy. One simple touch of our true nature is all One´s needs to awaken and is better than all the words in the world.

  • What are his qualifications as a Lama?

  • well this question has come up for 30 years. Its interesting. The answer that best satisfies me is that Karmpa says he is. Also Sharmar Rinpoche. And a host of others highly credible Lamas. And personally I have learned a great deal from Ole.

The real question is whether he is a teacher for a particular individual. Thats a personal choice best based on some personal experience.

theres a bunch of documents out there - just google Ole Nydahl documents

  • @smoothgoomer

This is a question that nobody will answer but yourself... It cannot be told, it has to be felt...

I felt it since i know him, in the very moment, no one told me, no one tryed to convince me... i just open my mind to him... and the answers came by themselves... seven years later, i still see them coming from him.

So.. my recomendation to you.. could be.... to meet him in one of the many public lectures that he gives around the world, and qualyfy him...

    Best wishes, good luck!

  • high life

  • he should first learn to speak english and then maybe one could then understand what he is trying to say,the word,s are english but the sentence doe,s not make sence

  • @coxhoe789 ....... Is it not you who should first learn English?

    1. English language is always written with block capital

    2. sense is written without "c". Do I need to continue?

I totally understand what he is saying, and perhaps I'm not alone.

Is it possible that the error is at your side?

  • @coxhoe789 well maybe his english isn't perfect. even mine isn't. but i think what ole says is really good to understand. it seems as if your english is pretty good - so - from that higher level it should be possible for you to understand it too - if it's for me from a much lower one... (i'm sure you wanted to say "... doesn't make any sense.")

  • Thank You, Lama Ole! This is awesome!!! :)

  • Thanks... when you speak of Mahamudra´s bliss it sounds/feels like the the whole body electricity (starting from the solar plexus and working its way out to the limbs and head) and connection to the whole one experiences during trance, am I understanding this correctly?

  • wow! im so glad i found you channel! cant wait to watch more.

  • He's a very good teacher. His words are very clear and concise.

  • indeed

  • he reminds me of what a baby would look like if its parents were Spock and Arnold swarzenager

  • he is really nice man...sincirely

  • Thank you for a great video

  • pointed ears and this man could be a vulcan. hes a very good teacher.

  • So Dear Lama Ole you were right! Buddhism is really spreading today, like you mentioned years ago, all over the West but also in the East. Many many followers and colegues Lama Ole has today. Wishing fast realizations to all!

  • Thanks for the video, Lama Ole is fantastic!!!

  • @orka80 He's an idiot. He has demonstrated his lack of understanding by going to war with his order and the Dalai Lama. He can talk the talk but fails to walk the walk.

  • Danke danke danke. Toller Mann!

  • Fluent, knowledgeable, and enlightened.

He was married to his wife 40 years or so till she died in April last year.

  • I've just listened the teaching. I have to bow down to this teacher. He is really great and able to make you to, how to say?, resonate with him. I knew him through his books. Now I have seen him ... It would wonderful if he could meet my Indian students and teach them!

    Infinite thanks

  • this is it!

  • I don't care about the controversy, i love this teacher, and think he provides and essential bridge between western and what is usually conceived as as 'exotic' Tibetan teachings.

  • Thanks for introducing this man, that was simply marvellous :-)

  • Yeah - He's really great! He's traveling around the world mostly every day in other city and geeving lecturers. Usually He sleeps 4 hours per day - and in rest of time he works - even in free time write on the hills of letters ;) Is great joy for me and my mother that we could stay his students - he is just great ;)

  • again...that was a wonderful wonderful discourse..

  • nice nice teaching..i enjoyed that greatly...mind recognises its own nature...clear light and space...also clear gradual path of all essential practices...Lama speaks with intelligence, clarity and accessability...thank you

  • KYE-HO! Homage to the non-dual blessings of Tilopa!
