From Australia wishing Ron Paul all the success he deserves. If only we had at least 1 honest politician with integrity like him in this country as well.
@younitehumanity In a word, NO. It makes me sad that I believe we will never have peace. Globalisation will reach a brick wall and that will trigger a third world war.
Excellent work here funky. Digging through the archives to show what a decent man Ron Paul is and has always been. A sane voice in the wilderness. Thumbs up!
this is how ron paul gets liberals and independents to support him but he's almost nearly dead wrong on economic policy. If we followed his advice after the recession we'd be in a depression.
@funkysnarf The real strenght of Ron Paul comes from his solid anti-war rethoric. But war is a by-product of the market mentality - That is to profit off of anything and everything, regardless of environmental and social costs. There's no way a "pure" free-market can solve this very phenomenon. If you want true change, you develop a system that rewards social contribution. Everyone for themselves will never work.
@The34gl3 Then why was the USSR such a militaristic empire? Why was Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy such warmongers? How about the Japanese in WW2? they were also a collectivist dictatorial regime? Pohl Pot? Saddam Hussein? All those systems were based off of collectivist thinking...None were based off of individualism, in fact individualism got you killed in those societies...Without individualism all there is slavery to the collective (which we have already in america, not free markets)
@The34gl3 a proper understanding of free markets, individualism, and property rights solves all the problems of war, social issues, and environmental costs...Its not an all for me and everybody be damned mentality...when i as an individual hurt u as an individual physically or say smog from my factory blackens ur building or lung,u have the right to a law suit to state ur grievances before an "impartial" judge...the world isnt perfect but understand liberty and u'll understand how to help change
@funkysnarf Are you trying to say to me that the USSR, the Nazi regime, Italy, Japan were isempt from market conditions? We are all interdependent, sorry to say. And until we, as a species, if you will, decide to take advantage of what we know (which is phenomenal) and stop playing this ridiculous game that gives the top 1% 40% of the resources and wealth, we would be much better.
I'm all for Ron Paul. I hope he wins. And I hope he makes the reforms that he wants to make. I think he means well.
@funkysnarf America is the most individualistic country in the world, by far. Egoism is your way of life. Exploitation of other countries your MO. And you have the nerve to tell me that it's not individualistic enough? Free-market is an Utopia of the ultimate kind. An ideology born out of fantasy notions, such as the "invisible hand".
All those regimes you mentioned were led by individuals, they were dictatorial, one-man regimes.
The most successful countries around have collective regimes.
U.S. foreign policy is driven by special interests, not because of a free market (which we don't have), but because there has been too much acceptance of big government. The continued centralization of power naturally attracts more to feed at the trough, the level of corruption is multiplied. Corruption and greed will always exist, the question is how to contain it. Your comment is about as useful as saying "Gravity made the airplane crash", while ignoring the drunk pilot at the helm.
@The34gl3@The34gl3 War is the enemy of a free society. It benefits the few at the detriment of the many, hence why over 70 percent of Americans are opposing our current militarism. This opposition is based upon self-interest. So it is absurd for you to imply that libertarianism orfree market is the cause of war. The concept of freedom does not allow for people to commit fraud against others, and certainly doesn't allow for a few people to commit fraud on a national level through government.
@The34gl3 Your right, it was a by-product of the market mentality. And the market mentality was not free markets, it was allowing the federal reserve to print as much money as was needed. If they didn't have this ability to print all the money they need, these wars would be impossible to finance.
@The34gl3 War is the health of the state and nothing else. All forms of government have waged terrible wars, and the more authoritarian the system, the more money is funneled to war. The biggest killers have been the biggest empires. Google "democide" and see the facts and figures: Mao killed multi-millions of China's citizens in domestic war fare alone. Stalin/Bolsheviks were the next biggest killers of their own citizens. Then Hitler. Now the U.S. empire. Coercive empires kill for power.
@The34gl3 Not true. The war machine wouldn't be allowed to exist in it's current state in a true free market capitalist society. The military industrial complex survives off of something called crony capitalism where in which they spend vast amounts of money lobbying the government for a constant stream of no bid government contracts. Their is absolutely nothing free market about the current state of things.
@funkysnarf thank you funkysnarf, this is probably the best ron paul video i have seen. if this video went viral we could convert countless amounts of people. this man KNOWS what he is talking about!
There is a youtube vid about the Depression of 1921 by Tom Woods. Why have never heard of the GREAT Depression of 1920-1921? Youtube the vid to find out. If you do you will know why the depression of the 1930s could have been easily avoided.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this is how ron paul gets liberals and independents to support him but he's almost nearly dead wrong on economic policy. If we followed his advice after the recession we'd be in a depression.
@girardbcp people in the great depression didnt know it til 4 yrs after the market collapse since government intervention delayed the effects of the '29 crash til '33 when the unemployment rate went from 9% to 26% basically overnight when the govts stimulus from hoover ran its course...so i believe if we woulda just let this crash the recovery woulda started in early 2010 and we'd be rockin and rollin by now...be we are debating keynesianism vs austrian econ...so probably wont come to a solution
@funkysnarf that is not true, it's like saying this recession was caused by Bush's measly tax rebates. NO economist (one that studies economics as a science) will agree with you. Only the amateurs from the Austrian school would agree.
@funkysnarf also, note there was a large bank run and peopled lost all of their money. Free market yeah free to lose your money by greedy banks and businesses. You and Ron Paul's boys.
@marquedesade NO PROOF. You think it would work, but there's no proof but we do have huge financial based recessions since we started deregulating in the 80s. Thanks
@girardbcp You dont know what your talking about, our economic history is proof. The freer it was the more we flourished as a country and history shows that definitively.
@girardbcp Ur economics wrong. U are following a bunch of totalitarian, propagandist, demogogues. They scuttle between hitlerian/mussolini fascist policies and marxism (brother and sister/republican and democrat).
If u think in that paradigm u will never realize the truth and have the ability to affect a positive change to your world...keep watching these Ron Paul videos and Peter Schiff and Jim Rogers and you will know the truth...Cheers!!
@girardbcp After the recession? Do you only get your economic views from the pundits on TV and status quo economists on the government payroll? the recession rolls on with no end in sight. that is why businesses are still failing and jobs in the private sector are not being created. Unemployment keeps going up, and bankruptcies and homelessness, and people on food stamps. The mass media paint a rosy picture, but the dollar loses purchasing power as the Fed inflates and gov. debt grows.
@girardbcp Then again, if they had listened to him in the first place, this probably would have been avoided since he was warning about it 5-10 years before hand.
I tend to think that the people that foresee the problems that will arise, are pretty good people to go to for the solution... instead we keep listening to the people that caused the problems in the first place
@girardbcp as i said, no use arguing with u...u dont understand right and left if u call mises far right...or for that matter understand mises or markets...but u can still keep living in ur world of confusion and paradox...thats the great thing about liberty, i dont have to care if u know the truth or not...i just try to lead in the right direction. but i do hear that cubas healthcare is hiring since all the doctors have about died off...might be closer to ur utopia! Adios!
@mersk100 yes obviously if I don't agree with Ron Paul who was wrong in at least 1/2 of his predictions in this video, yeah I guess I don't. Hyperinflation here we come! Right, guys?? Right? I'm waiting (psssh it should have happened 2 years ago after the stimulus, shhhhh).
@girardbcp Again you show you've no idea what you're saying. No one can say exactly when hyperinflation or any parabolic market activity will occur. If you had a clue about economics you would know this.
It is quite telling, your apparent banal belief that Austrian Theory is "right" and Keynesian is "left". Chances are you do not even know the difference and are instead just spewing your dislike of anything not held up as 'good' by your favorite talking head.
@mersk100 Peter Schiff, Ron Paul in this video and other austrian free market fundamentalists have claimed hyperinflation is coming. Your theory is that when the monetary base increases (this you call inflation) this will lead to price inflation. It's a theory and it doesn't apply all the time.
Yes, austrian is "right" wing. Ron Paul is a republican, not a tea partier or a member of another party. Him and his son (who has the same faith base economics) are republicans.
@girardbcp Price inflation due to monetary expansion is never even across an entire economy. That's part of the austrian theory too. Often it is government regulation in collusion with corporate interests that distort the economic landscape. It is nearly impossible to predict exactly where the money will flow or how fast. The distortions can be observed, not predicted.
As far as right left goes, you're still wrong. it's not a right left thing.
@girardbcp The inflation is already here. Hyperinflation will occur when interest rates go up and the interest payments on the national debt are more than the government collects in taxes. Fuel has only gone down slightly and only because demand is down. Before the Iraq war, oil was $25, gold was $300. You have to wake up and smell the inflation. You live in the U.S.? I feel bad for you, because you're gonna have a front row seat to this economic devastation.
@UponInfinity Right. Get back at me next year when what you say doesn't happens, then message me every year on 11/7 to commemorate your fantasy predictions.
People are starving right here in America! Family comes first. Take care of our own before giving aid to those goddamn foreigners! Besides, no matter how much we give them, they will still hate America!!
@hondoc1234 They will...just spread the message...Im working on new videos and im sharing all the good ones i see on facebook...One mind at a time... Keep ur head high and others will follow!
@hondoc1234 Educated people are listening. There's just not enough of us. Don't believe me? Look at whom your president is. That should tell you something. Smart people checked his record and did not vote of Obummer.
I am only 17, I will vote in 2012, and I will vote for Ron Paul. In the mean time, I will do everything within my ability to open eyes, and gain votes to change this country, and more importantly save it.
@MehWest116 Im 28 and i wish i had known about Dr. Paul when i was 17! You are on the right track! Learn about the Austrian Economics that Dr. Paul talks about if you havent already. This man opened my eyes to truth!
Perhaps, run "Wise Country Doctor," or "Prophetic Country Doctor," ..maybe too messianic? "Self-made Country Doctor,"etc. as montage of HouseFlr.speech runs, intercut w/clips of other idiot candidates & each clip identified by the year they still deluded it was okay, w/caption "Spoiled Brats," "Loud Mouths," etc. or IF Trump runs, run the clip where he drops F-bombs in a speech recently w/caption, "DEFINITELY a Loud Mouth," ok, maybe not for TV ad, but something along those lines, lol. GoodLuck!
Hey brother, thanx 4the upload; thought I saw another version of this before, but glad to see it updated since Dr.Paul's Pres.Explor.Comm. announcement! House Flr.speech portion alone could be aired as the Campaign Ad: "HE SAW IT COMING," w/apt music, then play all the moronic clips of oBUSHma/neoCON-candidates talking about how economy was hunky-dory as late as 2008, w/the caption "THEY DIDN'T." In a recent AntiWar.com interview Doc AGREED that GrassRoots SHOULD produce ADs! I nominate yours!
@RosenKrantz666 thanks! i promised myself in 2008 i would do whatever it takes to spread the Good Doctors message if he ran again in 2012! More to come! Viva le rEVOLution!

funkysnarf 9 months ago 14
@funkysnarf The real strenght of Ron Paul comes from his solid anti-war rethoric. But war is a by-product of the market mentality - That is to profit off of anything and everything, regardless of environmental and social costs. There's no way a "pure" free-market can solve this very phenomenon. If you want true change, you develop a system that rewards social contribution. Everyone for themselves will never work.
The34gl3 9 months ago
@The34gl3 Then why was the USSR such a militaristic empire? Why was Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy such warmongers? How about the Japanese in WW2? they were also a collectivist dictatorial regime? Pohl Pot? Saddam Hussein? All those systems were based off of collectivist thinking...None were based off of individualism, in fact individualism got you killed in those societies...Without individualism all there is slavery to the collective (which we have already in america, not free markets)
funkysnarf 9 months ago 22
@funkysnarf you speak from the heart, Montana :)) and i agree with you!
Rawego 7 months ago
@The34gl3 a proper understanding of free markets, individualism, and property rights solves all the problems of war, social issues, and environmental costs...Its not an all for me and everybody be damned mentality...when i as an individual hurt u as an individual physically or say smog from my factory blackens ur building or lung,u have the right to a law suit to state ur grievances before an "impartial" judge...the world isnt perfect but understand liberty and u'll understand how to help change
funkysnarf 9 months ago 4
@funkysnarf Are you trying to say to me that the USSR, the Nazi regime, Italy, Japan were isempt from market conditions? We are all interdependent, sorry to say. And until we, as a species, if you will, decide to take advantage of what we know (which is phenomenal) and stop playing this ridiculous game that gives the top 1% 40% of the resources and wealth, we would be much better.
I'm all for Ron Paul. I hope he wins. And I hope he makes the reforms that he wants to make. I think he means well.
The34gl3 9 months ago
@funkysnarf America is the most individualistic country in the world, by far. Egoism is your way of life. Exploitation of other countries your MO. And you have the nerve to tell me that it's not individualistic enough? Free-market is an Utopia of the ultimate kind. An ideology born out of fantasy notions, such as the "invisible hand".
All those regimes you mentioned were led by individuals, they were dictatorial, one-man regimes.
The most successful countries around have collective regimes.
The34gl3 7 months ago
U.S. foreign policy is driven by special interests, not because of a free market (which we don't have), but because there has been too much acceptance of big government. The continued centralization of power naturally attracts more to feed at the trough, the level of corruption is multiplied. Corruption and greed will always exist, the question is how to contain it. Your comment is about as useful as saying "Gravity made the airplane crash", while ignoring the drunk pilot at the helm.
b2bdown 8 months ago
@The34gl3 @The34gl3 War is the enemy of a free society. It benefits the few at the detriment of the many, hence why over 70 percent of Americans are opposing our current militarism. This opposition is based upon self-interest. So it is absurd for you to imply that libertarianism orfree market is the cause of war. The concept of freedom does not allow for people to commit fraud against others, and certainly doesn't allow for a few people to commit fraud on a national level through government.
b2bdown 8 months ago
@The34gl3 Your right, it was a by-product of the market mentality. And the market mentality was not free markets, it was allowing the federal reserve to print as much money as was needed. If they didn't have this ability to print all the money they need, these wars would be impossible to finance.
sollysolman 7 months ago 2
@The34gl3 War is the health of the state and nothing else. All forms of government have waged terrible wars, and the more authoritarian the system, the more money is funneled to war. The biggest killers have been the biggest empires. Google "democide" and see the facts and figures: Mao killed multi-millions of China's citizens in domestic war fare alone. Stalin/Bolsheviks were the next biggest killers of their own citizens. Then Hitler. Now the U.S. empire. Coercive empires kill for power.
leafwatch 7 months ago
@The34gl3 Not true. The war machine wouldn't be allowed to exist in it's current state in a true free market capitalist society. The military industrial complex survives off of something called crony capitalism where in which they spend vast amounts of money lobbying the government for a constant stream of no bid government contracts. Their is absolutely nothing free market about the current state of things.

this is how ron paul gets liberals and independents to support him but he's almost nearly dead wrong on economic policy. If we followed his advice after the recession we'd be in a depression.
girardbcp 9 months ago
@girardbcp people in the great depression didnt know it til 4 yrs after the market collapse since government intervention delayed the effects of the '29 crash til '33 when the unemployment rate went from 9% to 26% basically overnight when the govts stimulus from hoover ran its course...so i believe if we woulda just let this crash the recovery woulda started in early 2010 and we'd be rockin and rollin by now...be we are debating keynesianism vs austrian econ...so probably wont come to a solution
funkysnarf 9 months ago 3
@funkysnarf that is not true, it's like saying this recession was caused by Bush's measly tax rebates. NO economist (one that studies economics as a science) will agree with you. Only the amateurs from the Austrian school would agree.
girardbcp 9 months ago
@funkysnarf also, note there was a large bank run and peopled lost all of their money. Free market yeah free to lose your money by greedy banks and businesses. You and Ron Paul's boys.
girardbcp 9 months ago
@girardbcp What do you think the banks are doing now? and now we are NOT in a free market.
A free market would stop many of these problems and remove much of the power now consolidated in the banks.
marquedesade 9 months ago
@marquedesade NO PROOF. You think it would work, but there's no proof but we do have huge financial based recessions since we started deregulating in the 80s. Thanks
girardbcp 9 months ago
@girardbcp You dont know what your talking about, our economic history is proof. The freer it was the more we flourished as a country and history shows that definitively.
marquedesade 9 months ago
@girardbcp Ur economics wrong. U are following a bunch of totalitarian, propagandist, demogogues. They scuttle between hitlerian/mussolini fascist policies and marxism (brother and sister/republican and democrat).
If u think in that paradigm u will never realize the truth and have the ability to affect a positive change to your world...keep watching these Ron Paul videos and Peter Schiff and Jim Rogers and you will know the truth...Cheers!!
funkysnarf 9 months ago
@girardbcp After the recession? Do you only get your economic views from the pundits on TV and status quo economists on the government payroll? the recession rolls on with no end in sight. that is why businesses are still failing and jobs in the private sector are not being created. Unemployment keeps going up, and bankruptcies and homelessness, and people on food stamps. The mass media paint a rosy picture, but the dollar loses purchasing power as the Fed inflates and gov. debt grows.
leafwatch 9 months ago
@girardbcp Then again, if they had listened to him in the first place, this probably would have been avoided since he was warning about it 5-10 years before hand.
I tend to think that the people that foresee the problems that will arise, are pretty good people to go to for the solution... instead we keep listening to the people that caused the problems in the first place

Adios!
funkysnarf 9 months ago
@girardbcp You obviously have no idea what you are even saying.
mersk100 9 months ago
@mersk100 yes obviously if I don't agree with Ron Paul who was wrong in at least 1/2 of his predictions in this video, yeah I guess I don't. Hyperinflation here we come! Right, guys?? Right? I'm waiting (psssh it should have happened 2 years ago after the stimulus, shhhhh).
girardbcp 9 months ago
@girardbcp Again you show you've no idea what you're saying. No one can say exactly when hyperinflation or any parabolic market activity will occur. If you had a clue about economics you would know this.
It is quite telling, your apparent banal belief that Austrian Theory is "right" and Keynesian is "left". Chances are you do not even know the difference and are instead just spewing your dislike of anything not held up as 'good' by your favorite talking head.
mersk100 9 months ago
@mersk100 Peter Schiff, Ron Paul in this video and other austrian free market fundamentalists have claimed hyperinflation is coming. Your theory is that when the monetary base increases (this you call inflation) this will lead to price inflation. It's a theory and it doesn't apply all the time.
Yes, austrian is "right" wing. Ron Paul is a republican, not a tea partier or a member of another party. Him and his son (who has the same faith base economics) are republicans.
girardbcp 9 months ago
@girardbcp Price inflation due to monetary expansion is never even across an entire economy. That's part of the austrian theory too. Often it is government regulation in collusion with corporate interests that distort the economic landscape. It is nearly impossible to predict exactly where the money will flow or how fast. The distortions can be observed, not predicted.
As far as right left goes, you're still wrong. it's not a right left thing.
mersk100 9 months ago
@girardbcp Let me guess, you have your parents do your shopping for you. If not, you'd see the inflation already.
UponInfinity 3 months ago
@UponInfinity Right only food counts...noticed gas has went down? Plus if we go by your reasoning we had hyper hyper inflation under Reagan
girardbcp 3 months ago
@girardbcp The inflation is already here. Hyperinflation will occur when interest rates go up and the interest payments on the national debt are more than the government collects in taxes. Fuel has only gone down slightly and only because demand is down. Before the Iraq war, oil was $25, gold was $300. You have to wake up and smell the inflation. You live in the U.S.? I feel bad for you, because you're gonna have a front row seat to this economic devastation.
UponInfinity 3 months ago
@UponInfinity Right. Get back at me next year when what you say doesn't happens, then message me every year on 11/7 to commemorate your fantasy predictions.

Perhaps, run "Wise Country Doctor," or "Prophetic Country Doctor," ..maybe too messianic?
