So does this not have a drop? It needs it, or it needs a tighter beat or something. It almost sounds less like dubstep and more like it can't decide whether it wants to be DnB or chillout. Actually, you know what it really sounds like to me? Trance without a melodic buildup.
Aretha is unleashing some power in this song, you need to FEED it.
No thumbs down, but I think this could use some work.
@errrry'body else...if you ain't been there and done that..then this song won't connect to you. No mystery, just Truth. Youngins..think before you post a f-ing comment.
@tateuvmind..Biych please! You have no roots and you have no Idea what Ms. Aretha is makin a boi comjure with this shit..so shut the fuck up, live some more and then make fuckin comment, ya skeeeeeez ass baby!
I don't know why, but everytime i have this video on, I need to see the part with an ipod commercial. I love how it fits to the song. And I feel a bit excited while watching it. It's pretty much weird though.. :)
Dubstep isn't about beat drops. It's the amount of bpm that classifies it under the genre dubstep. Take the Skrillex out of your headphones and learn yourself some real bass music.
Y' know, I can't dance to dubstep. It's nice to listen to and bob your head to. When I want to dance though, I need more beats. This sounds really good though.
jp2855 ur a pompous fuckin dick and u clearly think too highly of your musical opinion, and have an obsession with classing any genre as opposed to just feelin the tunes. pathetic. great track!
Intro is dubstep but it gets a little too full afterwards. Dubstep's about the spaces between the notes & drum hits. Very nice tune but not dubstep. Strip out the techno-ish uncha-uncha-uncha drums that come in & space out the chewy keyboards, think bare bones, make it the skeleton of the current tune & you'll have dubstep. It needs to be starved & kept in a dark place. :-D
in fact, to elaborate - you want it to sound like the current tune's going on inside the club that the actual tune is outside bleeding in the alley having taken a beating. There's too much of the vocals, don't have the whole song, just snippets as though someone's occasionally opened the door. The keyboards & bass need a lot taking out so that the listener fills in bits mentally, and make the bass a lot deeper, something cthulhoid lurking in the shadows.
I think it's funny when people use that expression "think outside of the box" because if you are an out of box thinker, you would come up with a more original and witty way to phrase it.
@iamarobot3030 But if the term "think outside the box" was titled in a wittier manner, the "in the box" thinkers wouldnt understand its context and relevance to their way of thinking.
this song reminds me of show "club mtv" and the palladium nite club,it also reminds me of ce ce peniston's party where i saw "gene anthony ray" "leroy" from movie "fame" and jessie hubbard was there from "show "all my children" and "joan rivers" was there on the lower level of the club, and camille donatushi aka camille kesley grammer, who danced in the club wit leroy from "fame" great memories, yall can see me dance on lil louie vega live on mtv's "grind" late 90's im dressed in all black.
What I learned from this video is that only white people can't dance, even the furries and cartoons can... and only black people have iPods. =) I like the song too btw.
I love a wide rage of types of Dubstep. This is certainly different, but it doesn't make it a bad track.
Just just out of curiosity, to spark a bit of discussion..
What is Dubstep? What MAKES Dubstep? On that note, can anyone name some types of dubstep you've listened to? Why would this song be, or NOT be dubstep?
