Beyonce don't lip synch and it has been confirmed she did not lip at the Oscars. Many artists can't do what she does. Hugh is in his 40s, Beyonce is in her 20s, of course Hugh was out of breath.

Uh, but no, the musical is not back.

Lately all the musicals have either been brought from Broadway (Mamma Mia, Rent, Hairspray, Dreamgirls, Chicago,Evita) or have music people are already familiar with (Moulin Rouge, Cadillac Records).

So until Hollywood start making ORIGINAL musicals, like Top Hat, Wizard of Oz or Grease, they cannot claim it is back.

Wizard of Oz was a book written in 1900.

Grease was a stage musical, released in 1972 before they made the film, in 1978.

Hairspray was a film first, then a Broadway musical and then a film musical.

Alos, Mamma Mia is all ABBA music; music people are already familiar with.

If you wanted to cite original musicals, why not Singin' in the Rain or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers?

Unless there was music coming out of the book, The Wizard of Oz was an original musical movie. "Somewhere over the rainbow" was not there.

You are not getting the point here. My point is that they make musical movies that have already been tested previously, like Hairspray (it was only made a musical after being transformed into a musical on Broadway), or Mamma Mia.

The industry is afraid still that musicals with not be successful so they go to Broadway and get something that is popular.
