Thank you very much for the video, very educational and you cover things very well and make it easier to understand. I really want to buy one of these reloaders any suggestions as to where to find the better deals?
great vid. where might i buy a good used proggressive reloading press.. im having a hard time finging one.. that or a site where i might look... i dont have tons of money as my dad just died but id really like to get into it.. thanks again..
Cartridge length - you don't have to hit the max length the manual specs out. In fact, most guns prefer a little shorter. 1.250" is really a better length to go after for reloading 45.
You're really a lot better off setting the bullet depth off a known-good cartridge. Just insert a good cartridge into the shellplate with the die high up. Run the ram up, screw the die down until you achieve zero lash. Then try actually seating a bullet...adjust accordingly. Same goes for crimping...install a good case, run the ram up, screw the die down until it stops turning easily...finalize the adjustment.
everything was excellent until u mentioned putting the powder back into the hopper! it should be returned to the can instead. reason being, powder measures cut the grains when dispensing. when u dump it back into the hopper you'll have more of a chance of varying your charge since smaller grains fill the volume more, hence more powder by volume and larger charge. putting the powder back into the can allows the smaller grains to have less of a chance of being concentrated when u throw powder.
thank you so much. in spite of being a Kraut i understood everything and the setup of my 550 was easy and it worked. i just went step by step, merry Xmas
So far so good, I'm hooked on this press. I see you are using a wrench to tighten the dies. May I ask, why U are not using the black wrench hanging on the wall? Thanks for the info.

Superb videos. Made my setup a breeze. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
With your help I accomplished my first reloads of 45 ACP - LSWC .452, 4 grains of Hi-SKOR 700X.
I visited the range this morning and they were awesome! Thanks again!!

Good. I will one and send to Karen in Burma, so they can produce their own bullets to shoot burmese soilders.

Oddly enough, the adjustable wrench fits a lot better.

Definitely, that wrench that comes with the dillon has actually started stripping my lock nuts!

why not use a digital scale?

Because I'm cheap!

About $350 for the press, and another $50 for the carbide die set. All told you are looking at around $500 for everything.

This press runs about $300 I think
