How is it stolen if they broke from the Catholic church? The church is one after all. We are to be one body. Don't let these little things separate us. We're supposed to be a family. Yet we treat each other as strangers.
What a pity that Anglicans stole this magnificent building from the Catholic Church. Now, the vast majority of Irishmen don't have a Cathedral on their own and the small Anglican community keep two great Cathedrals in Dublin. It seems unfair to me.
In the seventies, the Anglican church in Ireland sent emissaries to the Vatican, offering a cathedral. They couldn't afford two, and thought it'd be nice for the RC to have a proper cathedral.
The Vatican sent over surveyors, engineers, etc., and wrote back, saying 'no thanks, we'll stick with St. Mary's'. So it's totally their loss.
In any case, CC is the seat of both Archbishops of Dublin, RC and Cof I.
If you disagree with someone, do you take their property and call it your own?
No, You go off on your own, and begin with your own ideas and resources, not someone elses.

I'll tell you a story of the seventies.

The Vatican sent over surveyors, engineers, etc., and wrote back, saying 'no thanks, we'll stick with St. Mary's'. So it's totally their loss.
