two clowns river fishing....the only reason the trout had gone was because of the clown running around the river trying to net the trout....is it really that hard to net?
Hey, I am looking to move to Missoula in the next few years. Do any of you guys know if these rivers turn up results hen fishing without a fly pole? I'm used to using a spinning reel/pole and was wondering if these fish bite bait, lures or spinners.
Yeah, they really look professional and sound like it. Well, they certainly would be running in circles. May as well sit down and have another beer. "Obviously" a guides day off - I just wouldn't post the name of the company they represent. Doesn't look very good. And Brett, you need to chill. Later.
@toolman560 Um... Yeah these guys are some of the most professional guys you'd ever want to fish with. Sometimes when you hook a big fish in fast water shit happens. And this is obviously a guides' day off. I guarantee these guys fish/guide circles around you.
I do have a problem when guys have a netter run 30-40 feet downriver to net the fish. I see it all the time and it bothers me. I don't let anyone net my fish unless we are in a driftboat. If I can't bring it in then I don't deserve to catch it. Fight it and land it yourself!! The sign of a competent flyfisher!
@northplattedrifter The sign of a competent fly fisher is landing and releasing a fish as soon as possible. I regularly walk downstream to net my clients' fish because it reduces fish mortality (I handle literally thousands of trout every year). The guys at 4 Rivers are serious pros; and if you want to act like YOU'RE the expert, it just makes you look like a dick.
man it sucks when people miss net! most of the time the netter unhooks the fish with the net and it can be quite the heartbreaker when you have a monster on the end of the line like in this case! He has the right idea of getting behind the fish but the process has to be more synchronized! i almost shed a tear for this one! lol
yo guys! looks like you's had one bad-ass time.. hey shit happens sometimes and everyone has a story of the 'one that got away' story, haha. i would love to fish somewhere like that.. enjoy it and respect it..
This was a big fish hooked in big hard water. When we first tried to net the fish the hook pulled loose and foul hooked the fish. Instead of drowning the poor thing Frank went in after it.
lol @ the inexperienced netter. First time I've seen a fish net attempt while he is still being fought out in the river. Play the fish out first, then net!
great video man dont get me wrong but that was a clear cut case of getting too exited and and horsing the fish you would be lying in you sad you didnt learn anything from that mistake im suprised he ate it with a 0x leader

Nice job - what a bunch of buffoons. Might be best to avoid this guiding company unless you are trying to find the closest beer store.

@troutbum86 Sounds like you haven't been on the river much. We do this all the time in Montana. Especially with a foul-hooked fish. Ass.

Great idea to run and make fast moves near the trout!!!if the guy with the net would approach slow that monster would not have that luck!
