  • eyhh uhdrbh

  • bah. Ive personally seen more at once.

  • Yeah, Swat1337, it was a pretty threatening looking thunderstorm and it was dark and a little circular. I don't think I would want to be caught out in the open with all of that lightning!

  • @Davemeister22 I would ! :)

  • man i freaked out it was freakin scary i was out with my friends when this happend so this was one creepy thunderstorm

  • I took this video in west Edmonton in the Callingwood area.

  • where in edmonton was this?

  • Yeah, it was one wicked storm!

  • heh :P

  • Continued... I was working on a house in north Edmonton then and I told my crew chief and the homeowner my prediction, but they looked at me and said "what? But it's so nice out here!". Within 2 hours, dark clouds moved in from opposite directions and we got pounded with downpours, hail and there was tons of lightning and dark clouds. One lady in Stony Plain took a pic of a small tornado hitting the edge of the Stony Plain golf course and it made the front page of the Sun the next day.

  • yep last year there was a few big storms i live in north edmonton on the garrison base .... i remember one night we had a huge storm blackout and another very loud with big strikes... heh yippe... more this year -.- :S

  • Yeah, we have had some wild storms here every summer! I remember one in early June '07 that hammered north Edmonton, St. Albert and Namao. It started out sunny, hot and calm, but then I noticed the clouds started moving in all directions. Taking that into account along with 30C temps and forecasts for nasty storms that day, I predicted that there would be a severe thunderstorm or possibly even a twister within hours somewhere in the Edmonton area. Continued...

  • Yes, the storms here are incredible, aren't they?!!

  • MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT EDMONTON!

  • That's heavy. It must not have been fun at Capital Ex when the storm blasted in!

  • i remember last year there was a tornadoe warning in the middle of Capital Ex.

  • I remember a Tornado Watch around that time. I took pictures of circular, dark clouds and it was a little scary.

  • my cousin was there he said he was cryin lol

  • Really? It was hammering down here in the west end for a bit, but the lightning was extremely intense!

  • I don't remember anything like that here on the south side... all we had was a large downpour and hail that was maybe the size of a pencil eraser. The only day I remember anything with dark clouds and lightening like that was last august 18/08

  • Gosh, that's intense! The storm didn't drop that much rain here in the west end of Edmonton, but the clouds were dark, circular and it looked like it had the potential to drop a funnel cloud!

  • oh god, i remember that, it came here to the fort, it caused a blackout, bad lightning, even hail, heavy downpoors, im glad thats over.

  • Really? Well, Edmonton recieved a fair amount of rain and lightning. That's the nature of summer weather on the prairies, though. One area will get blasted by a thunderstorm, but 5 km away, it can be hot and sunny!

  • It was 30.5C here in Wetaskiwin, Right after Millet it was in the 30s, But alas not a drop of rain, or even a rumble of thunder.
