What...no response to earlier comment? this logo is nuts! It seems to be sentient, with ear probes. and it looks ready to "slap" you in both directons (left and right)
On CLG Wiki it is the scariest of the four Vin Di Bona logos. Ranking from none, minimal, low, medium, high, and nightmare; this ranks from medium to high (the other three ranked from medium, low, and none), because of not only the music, and "primitive, dated CGI," but also how the productions logo zooms in.
As a little kid, I used to think that this logo was me. I have no idea what made me think that, but I would even get a little embarrassed when we saw it on TV. I'm glad to see that so many videos of me have gotten so popular.
This version of the Vin Di Bona Productions logo can also be seen on "America's Funniest People" (1990-94 w/ Dave Coulier) when TBS last reran that show.
The basic concept (the company name rotating and spreading out) hasn't been changed, but since the late 1990s, a CGI version has been in use. The last note of the jingle is held out longer there as well.
I found another from an 1992 AFV vhs that has longer jingle and with text spinning here it is /watch?v=QqKIvtSCiSs

They haven't changed that logo at all since 1989 when Funniest Home Videos debuted. Very simple.
