errrr.. you are aware that aronofsky didn't make up the story of white swan and black swan right? and that the film is inspired in swan lake one of the best ballet plays, which was composed by tchaikovsky?
i believe you should have mentioned the actual theme of the film, which is quite complex... that lily character represented black swan and the film is about the obsession about perfection and how far an artist goes for its art! and no black swan isnt a horror film...
@vesperlovett I think everyone's heard of Swan Lake my friend...I never once suggested that DA wrote the concept.
I did talk about the theme as I saw it. and it is what I would call a true horror film, Aronofsky ever refers to his movies as horror. that of course is all opinion though. thanks for the comment.
@Mrsblessed101 thank you! well I gotta say the experience of seeing it in the theater with that amazing music will be hard to be on home video, but still I think you're gonna enjoy it. Thanks for the comment!
@Mrsblessed101 that's a tough call..the only questionable scene that comes to my mind involves a girl/girl sex scene, which doesn't show much of anything but of course you can use your imagination. that scene in particular is crucial to the plot in revealing things about the main character though. Personally I think it would be okay for a 16 year old but of course I'm not a parent :)
Thanks for the heads up Mr. Nic, I have been very curious about Black Swan but I was worried as I have been on a loosing streak with movies lately. - Cheers
@mrgrizzlymosher you're welcome! yeah I hear ya, I'm very selective with what I will pay to see at the theater but this one really did blow me away. thanks for the comment!
question: do you ever get hater comments? I think you're the only youtuber that literally has zero haters. you must have good karma or something haha.
@xxtmJACOBxx haha, I've gotten a couple, mainly on my reviews that have the most views. I am very fortunate to have a great group of subscribers though that show me a lot of support! thanks for the comment :)
For me the best Film of 2010.....watched it like 4 times or so and could dig deeper everytime i saw it....great fcking movie^^ Although this film is actually pretty creppy at some points, it cracked me up when Nina(Portman) went to Winona Ryder´s hospital bed and stole something from her...thought that had to be a Injoke consindering Winonas past as a store thief^^
@mbckproduction yeah man, I can't wait to watch it again. haha, I actually didn't make that connection about Winona but now looking back that is pretty funny lol. thanks a lot for the great comment man!
@Kod3Gr33n well for a while I was even doubting if she was real, some parts just made me wonder lol. but I don't know if I would say she was evil, but certainly seemed unstable and obsessed with living through her daughter. thanks for the comment!
the movie was good. my girlfriend pretty much made me go see it with her. i didnt know anything about it, so i had zero expectations. needless to say it far exceeded them, and i was actually on the edge of my seat the last half hour. one of the few movies i would describe as "GRIPPING"
@iReturnVide0tapes thanks, I appreciate the feedback..I just kinda wing it on my reviews so I'm glad they come out ok lol. I definitely thought he was successful with that. thanks for the comment!
I agree, this really is a horror film, with some squirm inducing, Cronenberg-esque body horror. When this comes out on home media, this film is going to be legendary. But I have to disagree with you on Mila Kunis, who I thought was very successful. Her role certainly isn't as flashy as Portman's, but as Lili, she had to pull off a delicate balancing act of slightly changing her personality traits to fit with Nina's mental projections of her. It was subtle, seductive, and very effective IMO
@thebrb30000 maybe when I see it again I'll try to focus more on watching her...while I thought she was good, she wasn't what stuck with me but that's probably because I was more focused on Nina. I definitely agree about it being huge when it comes out. thanks for the great comment man!
This is definitely my favorite film of the year. I love how all of Aronofsky's films are about the decay of the human soul. In fact, I read a Fangoria Magazine where me said that he considered his films HORROR films! Great review! :D
@anguspage45 yeah this one really was horror to me. I didn't read anything or watch any trailer before seeing it so I was really thrown off, but pleasantly so when I saw it haha. thanks for the comment!

what is your view of the mother? I'm still confused about who her character is and whether or not she was an evil person.
