@brebreheartsjb its a great gun.. i have roughly 7-800 rounds through it only shooting match grade now and it performs flawlessly. thanks my friend, subscribe to see all my new videos and upgrades with it.
nice one i have same but desert camo painted only im mising a bipod ..got a tactical leupold scope with x10 dot recticle.have fine grouping at 500m sharp..ill make video some day.
If it doesn't have a x-mark trigger, adjusting it might be tough. Old Remington triggers have built in lawyers. If you bring it to a gunsmith, I'm sure he can adjust it for you.
if it has the x-mark trigger pro on it than all you need is a very small allen wrench and the adjustment is on the trigger itself.. if it doesnt have the x-mark trigger pro then you'll likely have the take the gun apart.
not sure i read it somewhere but i have tested it and it is correct.. slide a paper underneath the barrel before and after attachin a bipod and there will be a difference
I heard that the Hogue stock is the culprit. It's too flimsy. I'm looking into getting one of these rifles, but the first thing I'm doing is replacing that stock.
well obviously its the stock that makes it non-free-floating, but flimsy? i dunno about that, it seems to be pretty solid. i too am looking for a better stock, something with a form of a pistol grip and an adjustable cheek peice
i actualy dont no much about hs precision stocks.. i was really looking into mcmillan a4 stocks and the bell and carlson tactical stock as well... not sure what ill go with but it will be a while before i make the change.
McMillan stocks are very nice, but expensive. B&C are OK, and relatively inexpensive. HS Precision makes very nice stocks (slightly less quality in McMillan), but only run around $320. The Remington 700 Police rifles have HS Precision stocks.
any HS stock is good, excellent in fact. If you need an adjustable cheek rest, add a karsten kydex. I got my HS stock with cheek piece for less than $275
what a coincidence i was checking out the karsten kydex today.. i think im gonna get it! :) i am actually really not into how plasticy stocks feel.. i love the feel of my stock its kinda rubbery but not really. like a solid rubber.. after picking up an hs precision stock today i just cant wrap my head around having that.. just seems odd.. i know ill have one eventually but for now ill stick with my hogue overmold.. love it.
I have one of those also, 4-14 LP MK4 Scope, and I run Hornady 150GR BTSP's out of it. Have two 3 shot groups that have measured Sub .350", adn am consistantly in the Sub .750" range @ 100 yards.......Excellant shooting rifle. Coyote Killing Machine.
Yeah I dont go into it looking for the fur, or trophy mounts. They're rampid up here in Maine, so I go at it with the "elimination" mentality. The Coyotes up here can get as heavy as 50+lbs. I've shot two the weighted over 45lbs, and a bunch in the mid 30's. They dont explode, but they certainly dont lay down many tracks after impact.
wow those are some biggies!, ya here in southern sask canada they arent quite that big... at least the ones that i have shot. i've had some legs and parts split off..
really? cuz i thought in and around that area or the uk. hunters there can do pretty much anything with anything... silencers, lighting at night, out of cars, etc... i must be mistaken unless its just england?
As far as I know its extremely hard to get hold of anything other than an air rifle lol so I dont know if its different for wales or scotland. I mean its so hard to get a gun most people have never even seen one. You also need special permits to go hunting which costs a bomb you cant even fish without paying about £100.
@choochooherecomes Its not that hard just requires some paperwork which is a bit of a bore but worth it in the end! Shotgun licence is easy to get takes six week from sending off the forms to being granted it and costs 50 pounds don't need to be a member of any clubs. Firearms licence harder you need to be a member of a home office approved club or have permission to shoot on suitable land. Both last for five years
just so you know this is a sick rifle! the scope however is another story, its a knock off bushnell 6-25x50 and i always have it on 10. it has a rangefinder reticle, but im getting rid of it right away cuz im having problems with it holding its zero... im getting a bushnell elite 3200 10x40 tactical mil-dot. should be way better..
cant wait to shoot it then if you say its a sick rifle . im just waiting to get some better knowledge onscopes cuz i know absolutely nothing on that subject
oh yes, well i can help you out a bit, before i do you should check out my other shooting vids, espcailly the 543 yard shooting one! anyways, scopes. depends on what type of shooting you want to do. are you going to be hunting or target shooting? do you want to have an overall large scope?
well its good to teach yourself to shoot at a set fixed zoom... i would just suggest a 6-24 then if you want to shoot really zoomed in... but beware, your field of view will be really really small.. so if your shooting at something that can move and it does, you've lost it in your scope. and have to catch it again.
no problem, i personally always have mine fixed on 10x. thats cuz im usually doing long range... but a 3-9x40 scope would be perfect for a hunter anywhere from 25-400 yards
wow that sounds like a crap load of good quality components. some of those things i know of but im still getting into the whole firearms thing lol.. thanks! and i hope someday to be able to create my own perfect rifle as well!
Just got this rifle and slapped a Karsten Cheek rest on it and put 168gr Hornady AMAX through it with sub 1/2 inch results. 100% wicked. Would like to goet a bell carlson A2 stock for it but with these results why spend the money.
no doubt eh, i wish i had the money to invest another stock, but im getting alright groups so far, maybe once i start reloading ill get a different stock... but for now this gun is awesome.
Thinking about getting this one but wanted to know do you have other rifles? to compare? I wanted to know smoothly it cycles rounds and how smooth the bolt is.
i currently dont own any other high powered rifles but have had experience with using others.. i'd say this gun is easy to use has a smooth action and can cycle rounds very quickly. i hunted fox today and went through four rounds in a matter of 8-10 seconds and got them both
took my first shots today! was so fun.. that scope was way out lol.. but i got it to hit the 8.5x11 peice of paper at 100 yards with groups of about 5 inches just cuz it was windy as hell and cuz its still not completely sighted in. tomorrow wil be another update hopefully
@ 33 secs on the freezer door.... the in case of emergency magnent!!! it should be in case of an emergency get the Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 lol .... nice shit in and out of the car

@bobvandell2 it was the tactical version.. like the look... the 20" is a bull barrel so it somewhat compensates for lack of length.

Thanks drewbaby. It doesn't seem to have the x-mark trigger pro on it. So I'll take it apart like you say. It's just a mite heavy.

I love mine. Although you would never be able to tell at this point that it started out as a SPS Tactical.
McMillan M40A3 Fiberglass stock, woodland camo
Shilen Heavy select match 24" barrel
Leopold Mark 4 4.5x14
Leopold 20moa 1pc base
Harris swivel bipod 6-9"
Action trued, lugs lapped, fluted bolt, Tac ops bolt knob (THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!) gorgeous 1/2-28 threading.
You picked up a great gun. Endless possibilities. Good luck with it, and congrats !
