@Lalala2427 Actually, there is only one original member left in the band: guitarist Dave Hlubek. The keyboard player was a side man that they used on their albums, but he didn't become an official member until 1984. The others are all newer additions to the band. Original lead singer Danny Joe Brown and original lead guitarist Duane Roland are both deceased. Some of the remaining original guys are in a band with Jimmy Farrar (he replaced Danny Joe briefly from 1980 through 1982).

At least they have Dave Hlubeck back in the band to make it somewhat legitimate to retain the band name.I just picked up a copy of the DJB band album from 1981..Bobby Ingram is in the band...He's been around a long time..Still there is no excuse for ever retaining a band name when zero original members remain.

Bobby Ingram, the guitar player on the left here, bought the copywrites to Molly Hatchet from Pat Armstrong and Associates for a reputed $150,000. Some call this band "Bobby Hatchet." Bobby needed an original member fron the past band....and we have Dave Hlubek back. Dave details cars in Jacksonville for a living, but this is good gig money by anybody's standard. Rock On!

To put the argument in perspective, this band in the video is merely a good cover band. The music CD's they recorded since 1996 are very, very good southern rock albums. However, not to be confused with Danny, Bruce, David, Duane, Steve and Banner. Ingram and Phil could have chosen another name. make that should have. Hearing covers of MH tunes is great , this lineup plays them pretty tight. Bobby is just a revisionist, a third tier member before the '91 breakup.

They do a fair job keeping the music alive, Saw them in a little club in Cartersville, Ga. a while back, Hardly anyone was there but the band worked hard. Worth seeing for the price if you love the music.

Well, I was expecting something less based on other folks' replies. This is good ole southern rock as it has always been. Since I'm from Titusville where did they play? We used to watch SOMF City and others at Marker 34--whatever it is now... The club just south of Hwy 50 on US1.

Tough to watch this. I respect the bands old songs and in 1979 the original band was awesome. I don't fault any of these guys for trying to make a living but this is bad. Dave's there but get a third guitarist, Bruce on drums, Banner or even Riff on bass and get a singer that's not just a parody of Danny Joe. I've heard guys at karaoke bars drunk off their butts sound better than this guy. MH is getting a second chance with songs in movies and tv and video games so get a better lineup.

Neither Phil or Jonnie sound smooth their vocals sound too gruff maybe from too much whiskey. Both Danny & Ronnie had a smooth style its a damn shame they died so young. Whats never printed (possibly out of respect) I spoke to Dannys son at a show once & he said Danny liked his whiskey. Whiskey & Diabetes don`t mix, it probably was a contributing factor to his health problems & ultimately his death

wrong. Tim Lindsay on bass is NOT original. Hes literally the 25th bassist since 1991. Ingram was a 3rd tier replacement in 1986 well after the bands prime time. Shawn on drums is also about the 12th drummer post BRUCE CRUMP. Phil replaced DJB after he retired in '96. Phil was 7 years after the original band pulled the plug. Hlubeck IS the founding member and it pains me to see him play a side hack to Bobby. Dave, your band Gator Country is waiting for you..

danny joe brown left molly hatchet in 1996

the original singer left because he got a massive stroke and had been sufferin from diabetes since age 19

he wrote the songs for the album devils canyon

but appointed phil to sing and it was a great choice him and phil were good good freinds

danny joe brown died on march 10th 2005 from a life-long struggle with diabetes and is solely missed among southern rock
