Can anyone help me? I'm trying to find the name of this board I fought. I have no idea where it came from. The wheels and everything are completly unknown. One wheel say Makara international. it has 4 different wheels. It has no grip tape and the top of the board says Hangin Five. It's pretty cool. The bottom says surf city or bust.
I think the plastic board was also a part of skateboard history. You know, the GT and what many call the banana board. My first nice skateboard was a Banzai with road riders 4's
@xwoahxitsxnickx Its a banana board! not sure what brand, it was a popular 70s style board, because the material used is the same they used in surfboard fins! The more you know!
I could cry over all the opportunities I had to buy new boards back in the late 70s and early 80s that are worth THOUSANDS to collectors today. And I never even got one K-Beam for myself. If only I'd known. But I still skate and I'm 46.
Never let being an adult get in the way of being a kid!
hey dude love the vid, my dad told me when he was a kid he took off his rollar skating wheels and put the on a 2x4 when he made it when he was like 10 it was the late 50's so i guess you could say he was a part of the insperation it took to make the boards we have today.
I like to know if this guy has any boards from Australia or New Zealand, either 60's or 70's. We actually had rubber wheels before urethane wheels came out.
@Sk8t3r1717 so wearing hats so high on your head that as soon as you move they come off? Jeans tighter than spandex? and most kids in my nieghborhood are posers... i used to skate when it was real now... well now its just gay
i got a brycon lyons with drop thru trucks and a mike smith board i also got a fiberglass newport board but i can't find it used to skate in the 80's when i was in highschool then i fractured my skull in 88 and stopped riding looking to buy a longboard just for skating street not really into street or vert
Yea, you are right, I have a black night which my Dad gave me a time out by putting my board away in the Garage addict. he forgot where he put it back then, and when we were moving out, I found it, new black night never been ridden.. wow, how time flys...
i got one like that red one that says roller derby only mine i think was white and i dont know if it hd any words on it and just had to ask how much one would cost.
i think the quicksilver skateboard was by far the coolest that you showed us! are they on sale anywhere? if so could you please let me know where! thanks!:)
@JeremyBarneck Todd didn't mention that the Nite Rider actually lit up with a bulb and batteries, the first neon type board.. you can see an ad for it in the 2nd Skateboarder magazine from 1965
that last skate you show , is worth a lot. Its Bob Biniak "the bullet" , He died feb 25 . 2010. A sticker with that graphic went for 250 bucks.on ebay.
btw;this is the Skate Lab.There's pictures of it in Rhyn Noll's book.Although not considered "art",one of the most important museums in the world, for me.Too bad a lot of the '80's boards are used completes.Someone should start like the 'ultimate NOS collection'.
Take it easy pal.Dumb questions only provoke dumb reactions.Maybe this is not his native language,or he is quite young.Or just hasn't seen that many boards before. The world is bigger than the US,you know?
I dare that guy to build a house out of skateboards :D
