  • I saw him speak at a star trek convention when I was a teenager back in the 70s, and he was, indeed, a lovely sweet man.

  • To absent friends, in memory still bright.

  • DeForest Kelly was by far the finest actor in the Star Trek cast and his career, ironically, was destroyed by typecasting while Shatner's and Nimoy's careers flourished. The effects of the typecasting rivals George Reeves for finishing a wonderful actor. (Look at his filmography.) He should've chosen to play the captain instead.

  • The Three Musketeers, the Doctor, the Captain and the Vulcan. The chemistry will never be duplicated.

  • DeForest Kelley, Leonard Nimoy, and William Shatner made Star Trek work, Period.

Without them, Without their Enthusiasm,Wit, Seriousness, humor and War,th, the Original series which started it all would have been cancelled after 10 Episodes.

The Futuristic Legend Never would have Never happened without them.

    Now, Remember That......

  • Found this by accidentm, or maybe not an accident..wonderful. What a sweet man he was.

  • I love the eyebrow action in that early clip of him!

  • Rest in peace darling. What a legacy you left behind. You are soooo loved and desperately missed.

  • When De'Forest Kelley died it was a Sad Day in America.

It was like Grandpa on the Waltons passing away.

When the Original Trek was cancelled after 3 years we were deprived of a show that otherwise would have gone of for years...

  • Thanx for letting me see this.

  • He was the soul and conscience of Star Trek. He brought the old frontier to the final frontier, and reminded us of our humanity. He was a prophet.

I'll always remember him sipping a mint julep, staring out at pine trees, thinking of Georgia far away at a distant star...

And he was funny. You're missed, old Doctor.

  • I'm not crying, I'm not crying...

  • @BluRemembra It's okay. We all are.

  • XD I'm all sensitive and tearing up.

Wise man, you treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home. This applies to most things.

  • @yodagreennutsack I believe the line was, "Well she's a new ship, but she's got the right name. You remember that, you hear? You treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home.."

  • McCoy♥

  • His humanity made Kirk look heroic and Spock look intelligent. I feel he was the most important part of the trio, and he did it so easily and in such a laid back fashion that most never noticed it conciously.

  • @varanid9 Brilliantly well put.

  • Rest in Peace. Mr Kelley. And thank you very much.

  • Top Man!

  • I always thought one of the best Dr. McCoy bits De got to play was the death scene w/ his father in Star Trek V. A shame it was featured in the worst film of the original crew's movies.

  • That was very nice.

  • 2.15; what's a spetson?

  • @itkapatanka I think he said "Stetson". I believe it's a kind of cowboy hat.

  • The one upright Trek actor who didnt sell himself

  • Dee was a class act and the best. Always, and forever.

  • A touching documentary on the life of Mr DeForest Kelley. He had a great life and like all of the crew of the USS Enterprise you have had a major impact on the life of so many people. You will never be forgotten. RIP.

  • So glad to see and hear kind and loving words spoken by those who knew him well...I (actually we) can strive and hope that others will speak well of us in our passing. Hopefully we will live such lives that bring us reverence and kindness from those around us..

  • What a wonderful talented man he was,I so wished I could have met him..

  • thought De pastd in 1994?

  • oh this video made me cry... we miss you DeForest!

  • It makes me proud...to think DeForest Kelly lived in my city!! Go Long Beach! Makes me proud to be a Californian.

  • The trio, Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy are part of so many lives for so many years that it is hard to relate to them other than the charecters, they portrayed.

  • A wonderful tribute for a great actor.

Was this from the Star Trek VI Special Edition DVD, or from the Blu-Ray?

  • @Retrofan

    It's from the Blu-Ray.

Jackson DeForest Kelley, you are sorely missed.

  • THAT'S MY BOY "

  • Would have liked to have known him. Sounds like a kind, decent man.

  • i wonder why he did not use his first name, Jackson

  • He will always live in our hearts! Thank you for everything D.!

  • We all miss Dee; he was as a kind a man as there can be, and also a great actor, to star in a science fiction fantasy so powerful that it has never been overtaken by others. He played a simple country doctor whisked away into space, his duty was to his patients, he was as kind as he could be, as Leonard McCoy we remember him, there was so much of him in the character.

  • I could always relate to McCoy the most, I wish I could be a doctor just like him

    Thanks for posting this!

Kelley is such a sweet guy, we'll never forget you!!

  • Dr. McCoy was always my favorite. He's really not dead as long as we remember him!

  • This is amazing, I Loved him so much - still do. Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • Thank you for posting.

    It's a wonderful tribute.

  • I'm fighting tears, seriously. A sweet and wonderful tribute to a sweet and wonderful man.

  • @90geekgirl06 My eye moistened up at the end too.

  • this made my day,,,,thank you so much,,,,,,

  • I haven`t seen that before. Thank you so much.
