Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, says the bible is not the word of God, only the word of man. Carlton Pearson says it is man's word about God and not to be taken literally. The bible is the basis of the Westboro Baptist Church. The bible is responsible for multitudinous denominations and theological arguments. It is a quagmire of truth and fiction. God is of much higher quality than that book.

Ehrman, may have a PhD in NT studies, but does this really make him an expert? There are plenty of other "experts", who disagree with him. Maybe you just dont like their conclusions?

Why is the theocratic ministry there? Probably to help people learn how to present information from the Bible at the door. If the Bible was all that was studied all the time, can you imagine how many heads would be hanging in boredom. I'm sure the meetings are designed to keep people engaged. Basically what the Watchtower does is explain complex scriptures in an easier form for people who don't understand certain aspects. No sex before marriage was a big turnoff for you huh?

It is a sad situation. But, even sadder when your relatives (on my wife's side) have bought into this belief system. Oh well. There are those who lead or follow in their personal lives. I'm glad that Jesus spoke to my heart at an early age without the help of some organized religion trying to "guide" me. I have been able to stay free from the traps out there in life. Thank your for posting this video. I have relatives who are witnesses. For anyone who is not part of the club, their antics (mind control, disfellowshipping, why they believe, how they use the WatchTower as a crutch, how they sell their ideas while out recruiting, etc) scream....cult. I understand why they don't promote education, experience and anything outside of the control of the cult.
@RioAbajoBelen yes there is a reason why the members are only allow to have a high school education, many of the leaders dont even have that. its just very sad that so many do not think for themselves, they started allowing younger ones to get educated where white friends have been sending their children to college for years now they finally allow poor children to get a trade or go to a trade school to learn some skills outside of high school.

If as they say NWT was "Translated fromGreek" then they should know that "kurios" is THE ONLY Greek word translated Lord...and here's the interesting part :"kurios" is translated in the New Testment in 3 ways lord,Lord and also as LORD...you see the JWs claim that the LORD all uppercase has to be "God Almighty" so if "kurios" is all 3 then the "Lord Jesus" is GOD ALMIGHTY in their book too !!! When you read over and over, many times, keep reading it over and over and over, you see that Jesus started a preaching campaign to decare the kingdom of God. In Matthew 4:17 Jesus started preaching. He told his disciples to preach in Matthew 10. Matthew 10:14 tells them to go house to house. Matthew 24:14 says the good news of the kingdom will be preached... before the end comes.

There has been many scolars trying to figure things out but they run out of time. On the other hand we have a book that was given to us by someone that has been around forever. Although we can not understand forever because for us there is no forever.But what would happen if we were around for along time?
@RMXAD5 in my case i just don`t believe that the bible is 100% accurate or it all comes from God. although there is a lot of wisdom in it. so i take what is useful(for the good of one & all) & leave what is not.

When my child was little he like to play with matches. @kogamisamurai JW put out publications that are inspired by the bible. I always saw them as a way of going deep into the scriptures to understand them more and know how to apply them to our lives. Like I said to someone else. I've been with the JW for over 10 yrs & I'm going to college & have decided to stop. Not because I don't believe or agree with the teachings but because I rather live for now & go for higher education, "worldly things". The bible is the only book I really need.

I find it odd that JWs think that they are the centre of the universe. Most Christian churches, never even bring them up from the pulpit. And if they do, they always tie them in with Mormons. Christians don't find JWs a threat at all. Most don't even think of them.

I made the mistake of answering the door last Saturday. The woman at the door was a Jehovah's Witness. I was nice to her, but she took that to mean I agreed with her and was open to what she was saying, but I was not. She came back today with a man. They talk to me like I am a babe and know nothing of the Bible. I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to be one of them. Now he is coming back next Friday, but I don't want them to. I want to move now.

Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, says the bible is not the word of God, only the word of man. Carlton Pearson says it is man's word about God and not to be taken literally. The bible is the basis of the Westboro Baptist Church. The bible is responsible for multitudinous denominations and theological arguments. It is a quagmire of truth and fiction. God is of much higher quality than that book.

Why is the theocratic ministry there? Probably to help people learn how to present information from the Bible at the door. If the Bible was all that was studied all the time, can you imagine how many heads would be hanging in boredom. I'm sure the meetings are designed to keep people engaged. Basically what the Watchtower does is explain complex scriptures in an easier form for people who don't understand certain aspects. No sex before marriage was a big turnoff for you huh?

It is a sad situation. But, even sadder when your relatives (on my wife's side) have bought into this belief system. Oh well. There are those who lead or follow in their personal lives. I'm glad that Jesus spoke to my heart at an early age without the help of some organized religion trying to "guide" me. I have been able to stay free from the traps out there in life. For anyone who is not part of the club, their antics (mind control, disfellowshipping, why they believe, how they use the WatchTower as a crutch, how they sell their ideas while out recruiting, etc) scream....cult. I understand why they don't promote education, experience and anything outside of the control of the cult.

Jesus taught his followers to go from house to house. He wants more people to become disciples. Jehovah's Witness are following Jesus our Lord. @kogamisamurai I did not avoid the question, Love for god will be the driving force. You made and example of a couple getting divorce,well the separate because the love is not in them. One who truely love one another do not divorce. Or is it you are only looking at most today. There are many old couples who are still married. If you love someone you do not let them go or say is this it lets go our seperate way.That my freind would be selfishness.Because you have used them for what you want only.

Without 1 the other doesnt exist. Think..if adam and eve couldnt do it being perfect already..then how can millions of people do it after armageddon? the whole system is flawed. @kogamisamurai He does not need anything. You are still thinking as a man. good and evil, is what adam and eve gave us for folowing what satan said. Other wise there would be no evil. But satan dicided he knew better thatn God so God is giving him a chance to prove his point. Just as he is giving us a chance to decide if we want what satan has to offer, as the world as you see it now. Or as the way God intended it putting adam and eve in a garden of eden.God did not put us where we are at now.

As far as god goes..You said he "needs nothing"..exactly i agree so like i said why does he need our love or thanks for eternity? why did he "need" to prove to the angels about anything? You know the story.. Then you should know in the begining ther was God JUST GOD. And then he began to create, Everything in the heavens and the earth.EVERYTHING. Then satan whent off on his own. Just as you raise a child and once he gets a little older he pretty much goes off on his own. Sometimes doing things you did not show him.Read Job 1:6-7 God asked satan where were you? and satan replied down on earth and walking about it. So he was not cast onto earth yet. So was satan surrounded by bad? he had to get the idea somewhere.Thats what ive been trying to say..since the beginning there was bad..yin yang..positive negative, good or evil.Without 1 the other doesnt exist. When my child was little he like to play with matches. He lerned about matches from watching me light the q-pit but I would tell him to stay away and it is not something to play with,but I would catch him playing with it and burning himself time and again.So you can teach good but they can want bad.

Some have read the bible verious times and still do not know it all. By taking in knowledge we try and understand our creator and follow his instruction. What could come out of this? @tonyafn Eveything in the watchtower is 100% based on bible pricipals. If you look at the watchtower you can see scriptures quoted and cited in the paragraphs. After reading the paragraphs read the scriptures cited and you'll see that the paragraph is being based on the scriptures.

@kogamisamurai JW put out publications that are inspired by the bible. I always saw them as a way of going deep into the scriptures to understand them more and know how to apply them to our lives. Like I said to someone else. I've been with the JW for over 10 yrs & I'm going to college & have decided to stop. Not because I don't believe or agree with the teachings but because I rather live for now & go for higher education, "worldly things". The bible is the only book I really need.

So instead, why don't you just let the Bible speak for itself? For example, why don't you read Deuteronomy 4:12-17 and present what the Bible says about the nature of God, without you commenting and offering an alternative explanation?

I made the mistake of answering the door last Saturday. The woman at the door was a Jehovah's Witness. I was nice to her, but she took that to mean I agreed with her and was open to what she was saying, but I was not. She came back today with a man. They talk to me like I am a babe and know nothing of the Bible. I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to be one of them. Now he is coming back next Friday, but I don't want them to. I want to move now.

@LarryLane07 Tell them not to come back. Reinforce that you don't want any Jehovah's Witnesses calling and they will make note of it on their territory assignments. If all else fails, I would put up a sign. They must oblige and leave you alone....you can make big trouble for them if they don't. Also, you can call the Kingdom Hall in your area and request that no one solicit you.

@CodeRed1701 That is very true...follow what feels right in your heart. But the Witnesses do not believe that. Once they have their claws in you, they feel it is their God-ordained duty to bring you into their religion and baptize you. There is no room for "feelings" or "free-thinking" in the JW faith. Beware. I know from experience and I wouldn't sway you, but there's more to it than you know.

@katapultsmash i feel youi do know they are very controlling and really out of touch with real world il like to know more of whats more to it than i know.my girlfriend is not a witness but her mom is but she says shell defend them she just dont agree witheverything they say.but when her mom came over to our house she hid the picture of jesus i had on the shelf so her mom wount get mad and talk bad about her thats how she is but my girlfriend still dont see things too clear due to her upbrinng

@MrRonaldmack1 It's really hard to break loose. you just get so much SHIT from witnesses for your personal choices. For instance..I haven't been to a meeting in over a year....but I still hide my cat's photo with Santa when my mom visits just so I don't have to hear her on her freakin soapbox about how Christmas is wrong. If only JWs would research their own "bible & tract society" they would realize that it is only a publishing company with majority land rights in New York and use religion as a cover up to sell their literature. I know, I used to work at Bethal but was disfellowshipped when I started to ask too many questions.

if the organization says something that isn't in the bible I quit.
