This is one of the most interesting commercials in recent times. I love how it intentionally breaks all the rules of advertising:

1. The name of the product is barely mentioned.

2. The characters are so ugly.

3. The dialog is so hysterically dry: "Hey lady, you should get Boost Mobile!"

4. The comedy reference is obscure--It's "the" talking dog, not "a" talking dog. Evidently in this world there is a famous talking dog, and the guy is wondering if that is "the" one.

Over educated idiot here..the ad is supposed to be wierd. The actors with the uncanny lips are doing in on purpose(maybe w/CG help).

The advertisers are taking advantage of the Uncanny Valley effect which was researched by Dr. Masahiro Mori.

The research showed: When someone looks almost human but not perfect people pay more attention to it.

Thus they put the wierd stuff right before their brand play and pitch line...and it worked, this thread as evidence. But I still won't get Boost!
