Are you saying that subjective experience that is generated by 100 billion neurons, each with an average of 1000 interconnections, might be impossible to fully explain? Yeah!
The salient point is probably that even if neuroscientists/neurophilosophers should ever succeed, those who are committed to dualistic fantasies will deny the explanation and its supporting evidence. The fantasy of an eternal afterlife is a potent motivating influence for irrationality.

It seems to me like they're waiting for Godot.
Given infinite time and technological power, it seems unlikely that anyone will ever find the essence of the subjective human mind.
